While the Overwatch hero Symmetra has received several reworks, she has also been given plenty of awesome skins in the past few years. From a Goddess to a Magician, Overwatch players have been able to dress Symmetra in some standout costumes — though no official cosmetics are on par with the creativity seen in one Redditor’s Unicorn skin.
While Symmetra players are currently struggling with a teleporter bug that can see the Damage hero being pulled off the map, fans of the character have not let any frustration impact their creativity. Redditor haydnc95 is a prime example of this, as the talented Overwatch fan has shared their Symmetra concept with the game’s loyal community. Quickly amassing hundreds of upvotes along with dozens of positive comments, it is safe to say that players appreciate the work put into the design.

While the spiritual architect Symmetra may seem like an odd fit for a Unicorn skin, the actual outfit will quickly win over any naysayers due to its many clever details. First and foremost, though the signature horn of the unicorn does exist inside the concept art, it is subtle enough to not look outlandish. Appearing on a special visor for Symmetra, pink lipstick, and a ponytail hairstyle help to make the horn blend in with the rest of the skin.
Symmetra’s armor is a real highlight of this concept, and while her redesign in Overwatch 2 is unlikely to resemble this pattern, it would be excellent to see added in a one-off skin. On one of Sym’s shoulders, a unicorn head can be seen, while the other pauldron depicts a winged pattern — with the same type of accent seen on the hero’s boots and around her waist. A neat neck brace makes the armor look protective, though, like Symmetra’s other skins, her legs are exposed. Finally, the standout feature is a shiny skirt, something that only works as well as it does because of the theme.
Unlike other Overwatch skin concepts, two variants of this same outfit are included in haydnc95’s post. Showing just how well thought out the design is, both variants look great and give off separate vibes. While the gold variant is a bit more muted overall, it does boast a rainbow skirt as well as pink Hardlight that matches the goggles. In the vibrant variant, Sym’s long hair is colored pink, with a skirt that matches the color pattern seen on the rest of the costume. Her arm is also colored like the skirt, making the alternate look even more complex than the first.
With Overwatch 2 is still far off, making skin concepts could be a good way for fans of the hero shooter to kill some time. As far as Symmetra concepts go, though, this Unicorn outfit is going to be extremely hard to beat.
Overwatch is available now on PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
