Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War added Firebase Z to Zombies in February, and since then, players have seemingly done all that they can do inside the map. However, one video from Reddit user GassySyrians shows that there is still one memorable thing for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War players to witness — even if it is not meant to be in the game at all.
The glitch in question deals with Firebase Z boss Orda. Appearing at the end of the Firebase Z main quest as well as the map’s Assault Rounds, Orda is a massive creature from the Dark Aether. Boasting some interesting attacks from the get-go, a recent health increase for the boss has helped to make him an intimidating foe that is tough to take down. While players can focus fire on the creature during the Assault Rounds, successfully killing him, they can also fail.

If players fail an Assault Round, power is turned off in the area, forcing them to reactivate the generators. While most players can defeat Orda before reaching this point, GassySyrians failed due to their melee only run with the E-Tool shovel. While this is understandable, what happened with Orda is a bit more confusing. Though the beast usually flees the area via a beam in the sky whenever it is victorious, this player’s game clearly bugged out, as Orda is permanently stuck in one position.
After Pack-A-Punching the E-Tool, the Call of Duty Zombies player returns to the Mission Control area to fix the powered down generator. However, he sees Orda’s beam shooting the device, with the confused player doing a double-take before heading outside. Sure enough, Orda is standing in the trenches, constantly firing his laser at the generator. With the once-horrifying boss now stuck in place, the player wastes no time running up to get a closer look at the enemy.
GassySyrians quickly walks into the creature’s foot, standing inside it while continuing to train the Zombies in a circle. Hitting the boss with the E-Tool does nothing, though, as it seems to be more of a hollow shell than an actual, fully textured enemy at this point. Still, with players once at awe of the creature during its first appearance in Die Maschine, being able to get a clear look at the Elder God could be a good bit of fun.
For any players that want to see this happen in-game, loading up Firebase Z and failing an Assault Round as soon as possible would be a wise idea. Much like Outbreak’s Zombie Head bug and other Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Zombies glitches, this will likely be patched sooner rather than later.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
