In the year since the COVID-19 pandemic began, many celebrities have taken to social media more often to entertain both fans and themselves. For Black Widow star Florence Pugh, this has come in the form of videos of herself cooking, capturing the hearts of fans everywhere.
In the most recent of these videos, Pugh took to Instagram to share a quick recipe for a bean salad, which she jokingly calls "bean-y fart salad." She works mostly on instinct for this recipe, encouraging viewers to adjust to taste as she combines onion, garlic, olive oil, chili oil, hot sauce, salt, pepper, and white wine vinegar with her salad base of chickpeas and butter beans. The Instagram stories of her making this simple recipe caused her to trend on Twitter for much of the next day.

Pugh has shared several other cooking videos on her Instagram stories before, all of which can be found on her Instagram highlights. Among others, the recipes include ones for tzatziki sauce, squash soup, Sunday roast, homemade pasta, and how to make the perfect cup of tea. In all of these videos, Pugh is energetic, motivating, and funny, speaking to her followers as if they are her friends.
Cooking videos aren't the only thing Pugh has been up to during the COVID-19 pandemic. She recently wrapped production on the thriller Don't Worry Darling, starring alongside Harry Styles, Chris Pine, Gemma Chan, and Kiki Layne. The costume designer on the film, Arianne Phillips, gifted Pugh with a yellow apron with her name embroidered on it, which she has worn in her most recent Instagram cooking videos.
Pugh was also recently spotted in Atlanta, where the Hawkeye Disney Plus series is currently being filmed. She will be appearing in the series as Yelena Belova, a spy who takes up the Black Widow name in the Marvel comics. Yelena will be seen first in Marvel's Black Widow film, which will be released in May after being delayed due to COVID-19. Once that film has been released, Yelena's specific role in the MCU going forward will be more clear.
Although Black Widow will be Pugh's first role in the MCU, it is not her first major movie role. Her starring roles include films such as Lady Macbeth, Midsommar, Fighting with my Family, and Little Women. She has received multiple award wins and nominations for these parts. She is sure to bring a lot of skill and confidence to her role as Yelena Belova.
Black Widow will be released in theatres on May 7, 2021.
