After many years of community asks and requests, Sims 4 finally adds bunk beds for children in its most recent update.
Surprisingly, bunk beds weren't a feature in Sims 4 prior to its recent announcement, despite fans asking for it since the game's release in 2014. Before, players have had to create bunk beds with makeshift objects if they wanted to use them or conserve space, such as with the new platform tool that came in the Sims 4: Snowy Escape DLC pack. Players were also able to use this feature to create attractive loft beds in studio apartments or other small living areas.

Via a tweet, The Sims 4 has confirmed that a free update released this morning including bunk beds. As shown in a Twitch livestream outlining the update's details, the bunk beds are functional not only for children but adult Sims as well. This can make conserving space with large Sims families, or those who do the absurd 100 Baby Challenge, much easier.
Additionally, toddler beds can be slotted into the bunk beds, the developers explain on stream, but that needs to be done by hand. New animations of The Sims 4 children climbing onto the top bunk were shown off on stream as well. The bunk beds' colors can each be changed individually, and there are variants in colors and frame styles for the bunk and loft beds as well.
The newest Sims 4 update also adjusts some hairstyles such as the Puffball and Short Afro by including more details, like baby hairs on the forehead. These hairstyles are also available to Sims of all ages.
The Sims 4 is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
