Bloodborne is now six years old, and in celebration, the community plans to return to Yharnam's beast-filled streets once more.

FromSoftware's Bloodborne was one of PlayStation 4's stand-out games when it launched in 2015, and, as is common for fans of FromSoftware games, a large community formed around the game. Now, the community is organizing a return to the gothic town of Yharnam as Bloodborne celebrates its' sixth anniversary.

In the last six years, the Bloodborne community has continued supporting the game and making small discoveries, while others work on projects inspired by the game, such as one fan remaking Bloodborne for the original PlayStation. While many fans now await FromSoftware's next release, Elden Ring, others are not finished roaming the streets and hunting beasts just yet.

The "Return To Yharnam" community event will begin on March 24th and run until April 7th, 2021, according to Reddit user Aveldaheilt's post. The event rules are pretty simple; players need to create a new character and play through the game while engaging in co-op and PvP. The event is worldwide, and therefore players should set the game's network connection to worldwide. Players will be able to tell who else is partaking by leaving and reading messages by lanterns. In addition to the main event, there will also be giveaways and an art contest that focuses on weapon designs for those who love Bloodborne's unique trick weapons.

This event, while impressive, is not the first of its kind. Fans of FromSoftware's games are a dedicated group of people, and "Return to" events have taken place for Demon's Souls on PlayStation 3, Dark Souls, and Dark Souls 3, with a sizable amount of players returning to play the games each time. Even the black sheep of the franchise, Dark Souls 2, has its own Return to Drangleic event organized by the community and it has taken place every year since 2017.

The community behind this franchise of games is impressive and has time and again supported the games way beyond the publishers and developers themselves. The fans of FromSoftware often devote themselves to the developer's titles, and there is no better example of this devotion than the intricate fake lore crafted by those awaiting Elden Ring. Despite almost no information on the upcoming FromSoftware game, apart from a teaser trailer and the reveal that George R.R. Martin will be involved in writing the game's story, Elden Ring won the most anticipated game award at The Game Awards last year. The hype surrounding the game is arguably being generated by the community more than the publisher.

Bloodborne is available on PlayStation 4.
