As the result of a never-ending subathon event, Ludwig is now the most subscribed streamer on Twitch, hitting over 100,000 subscribers.

Many people will do both good or bad things to gain a higher following online and earn some clout. When it comes to the world of Twitch streaming, streamers will often pull off crazy stunts in order to get noticed.

One Twitch streamer who goes by the username "ludwig" started a never-ending subathon recently that is still going past recording for 198 hours straight. Thanks to this insane stunt, ludwig has earned himself over 101,000 new subscribers on Twitch.

Besides the substantial amount of money Ludwig earned from the Subathon, this has rewarded ludwig by making him the most subbed Twitch streamer in the world. This successfully puts him in a higher subscriber bracket than fellow streamers such as xQc, who has about 40,000 subscribers, and Pokimane, who has a little over 7,800. As stated by ludwig on Twitter, this has been his dream since he started streaming three years ago, and he is thankful for all the support from his fans.

The streamer's never-ending subathon started early last week. The way it works is that there is a timer counting down for when the stream would end. However, for all the new subscribers on Twitch that ludwig receives, more time is added to the countdown depending on the tier. Fans would be able to watch him sleep, eat food, and talk to his friends on a constant cycle. Currently, there are about 32 hours left of the stream.

Per subscription status, Tier 1 subscribers would add 20 seconds to the clock, Tier 2 would add 40 seconds, and Tier 3 would add 100 seconds. For users already subscribed, 500-bit Twitch donations would also add 20 seconds to the clock. However, out of fear of the stream getting too long, ludwig has now set a 31-day cut-off to the timer, and cut the donation times by half.

To put into perspective with how much money ludwig will be earning now with those 101,000 Twitch subscribers, ludwig will be making around $499,000 per month - before taxes. However, that number is in the lower estimate and is only considering if the subscribers are all Tier 1. According to ludwig's roommate during the subathon, ludwig is not the kind of person who spends a lot of money on material goods, and therefore he will be donating a lot of the money he earns to charity. Hopefully, ludwig will come out of this experience with positive memories and will be able to treat himself while also giving back to the community.
