343's community team confirms that in an upcoming update from Halo Infinite's developers, they'll share details about the game's audio.

343 Industries is making the most of Halo Infinite's delay into late 2021 in more ways than one. The 343 community team has seized the day and is offering Halo fans routine updates on the game and its development. Whether it's a developer Q&A, details on weather and day/night cycles, or secret messages exploring Halo Infinite's story, 343's keeping fans excited about Halo. Now 343 has teased what fans can next look forward to.

Halo community director Brian Jarrard shared some information about the next "Inside Infinite" update coming from the 343 team. According to Jarrard, the next update will be "the nerdiest one yet," seemingly in reference to how deep of a dive it'll be into this specific team's work. That team will be the Halo Infinite audio team, sharing details about how it's putting together Halo Infinite's sounds. There's no mention of music, but that's hopefully included, too.

Jarrard also makes sure to set appropriate expectations for the monthly Halo Infinite update. They say that the post is going to feature "a few fun audio examples," but nothing more substantial. They specifically make clear that there won't be any screenshots in the post, since Halo fans are especially excited for more visual teasers. That likely implies that there won't be any videos, either. This is a spotlight purely for the audio team to show off their work.

This isn't the first time that 343 has showcased audio work for Halo Infinite, though. In November 2020 the official Halo YouTube channel shared a video showing various sounds being recorded for the upcoming Halo game. These included an adorable pug making growling and happy noises, exploding pineapples, and a surprising amount of Xbox console and controller sounds. Needless to say, 343 is getting creative with the sounds it's using for Halo Infinite.

What's clear from Jarrard's tweet and from the November video is that the 343 audio team really enjoys and is excited to talk about the work it's doing. If anything, the update that 343 will be sharing with the community will be just a glimpse at what the audio team could share of the cool work being put into Halo Infinite.

With Halo Infinite still over half a year away, Halo fans will likely take any content they can get about the upcoming sequel. When Halo Infinite eventually launches, Halo fans are going to be more in-tune with the kind of work that went into it than for the vast majority of games. Hopefully, that works out to Halo Infinite's benefit as opposed to creating Halo fatigue.

Halo Infinite releases in 2021 on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
