A Super Cucumber is one of the very rare fish that can be caught in Stardew Valley if players know the right time and place to look for it.

In Stardew Valley, players can catch any number of different fish depending on the time of year, time of day, and even location. While players can figure out how to fish in Stardew Valley for all the various kinds, finding a Super Cucumber can be difficult without a little help.

While Super Cucumbers might sound like a giant vegetable that players can grow, it's actually a rare version of the eel-like cucumber fish. They can be used in the spools of sewing machines to make Tube Tops, sold for 250-375g, and can be used to gain the strange ??HMTGF?? statue. While not a Stardew Valley legendary fish, the Super Cucumber is still pretty difficult to get and will only come out during certain times and seasons, in three locations.

The best time to search for one of these elusive cucumbers is to fish at night, between 6:00 p.m. and 2:00 a.m. in-game time. The Super Cucumber also only appears in the summer or the fall. It's important that players have a good fishing rod and have levelled up fishing in Stardew Valley as much as possible to make catching easier.

Locations that Super Cucumbers can be found are:

  • The Ocean
  • The Night Market deep-sea sub ride
  • The Pirate Cove
  • Digging through garbage cans during the summer and fall.

Considering the Super Cucumber doesn't have a whole lot of uses, it's no surprise that other fishermen would throw it out. If players want one of these Super Cucumbers but are tired of the fun fishing mechanics in Stardew Valley, they can try to find one in the garbage instead.

In order to get the ??HMTGF?? statue in Stardew Valley, players need to utilize one of the "magic" crates. Take a single, unstacked Super Cucumber and head to the blacksmith's shop; if players don't unstack the Cucumbers, the crate will take all of the Cucumbers in that stack instead of just one. Head north of the blacksmith's shop and look for a fenced area. There is a hole in the fence that players can access the magic crate through.

The magic crate will exchange the purple fish for a trophy that is even stranger. The ??HMTGF?? is a secret piece of furniture that looks like someone tried to make a Squidward from SpongeBob SquarePants statue out of spare parts. The statue cannot be resold, but it can be displayed as the piece of artwork, and it is one of the best gifts from Stardew Valley that players can acquire.

Stardew Valley is available now on Mobile, PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
