The Game Boy Camera is the last platform players would expect to see a new game, but one developer is seeking to change that perception.

2020 was a huge year for gaming, with both Sony and Microsoft's next generation consoles launching. While players might expect next generation games to be all the rage, one developer has instead decided to step back and create something truly amazing. Attack of the Fluff Monster just might be the first ever game made for the Game Boy Camera. The developer, @Twarda8, just shared exclusive gameplay footage.

For those that aren't familiar with the Game Boy Camera, that's because it never really saw a lot of use. Releasing in 1998, It was initially meant to be an accessory for the Game Boy that would allow players to take selfies of themselves, but it never really caught on. Instead, photographers used its technical limitations as a test of skill, and now it seems that @Twarda8 is doing something along the same lines with Attack of the Fluff Monster.

As part of the promotion for the game @Twarda8 advertises that players can explore two rooms, solve one puzzle, fight a boss, and save a parrot, and as it happens that's the extent of the gameplay. The exclusive gameplay footage that the developer shared is also the first ever documented speed run of Attack of the Fluff Monster.

While it's fun to joke about and the game is both silly and cute, it's actually very impressive that @Twarda8 was able to somehow create a video game on the Game Boy Camera. They even have plans to release a playable version for free to the public, but they say it may be a while as they first need to get a save dumper first.

Fluff Monster is in development for the Game Boy Camera.
