The Palindrome is an iconic Destiny Hand Cannon that has made its return to Destiny 2 with a few different rolls Guardians should hunt for.

Destiny 2: Beyond Light introduces fresh ways to hunt for legendary weapons through the weekly Nightfall: The Ordeal. These targeted Legendary weapons include reprised Destiny 1 weapons, Shadow Price, The Palindrome, and THE SWARM.

The Palindrome Hand Cannon returns in Destiny 2: Beyond Light as a Void Energy weapon. Guardians can farm for The Palindrome when it is the weekly Nightfall: The Ordeal reward. The only question around The Palindrome is what the god roll is.

The Palindrome is a versatile 140 RPM Hand Cannon that is good for any activity in the game. For barrel options, Guardians will want to look for with Hammer-Forged Rifling, or Smallbore. Both barrel options will complement both PVE and PVP game modes. Hammer-Forged Rifling will add +9 to the range stat, while Smallbore will add a +6 to the range and +6 to stability.

For the Magazine perk slot, Guardians can never go wrong with the tried-and-true Ricochet Rounds. Ricochet Rounds will add +5 to the range and +9 to stability. Ricochet Rounds also allows the gun’s bullets to bounce off of hard surfaces. If Guardians prefer, they can opt for High Caliber Rounds to apply extra flinch in PVP.

When it comes to the two perk slots on The Palindrome in Destiny 2, Guardians have a few options. In the first column, Guardians should look for either Killing Wind or Overflow. Killing Wind will be beneficial in both PVP and PVE, while Overflow is most beneficial in PVE. Guardians should stay away from Bottomless Grief unless they want a very situational weapon.

In the final slot, Guardians should search for either Rampage or Rangefinder. Both perks will be useful in any activity in the game, making either perk a solid choice. Rangefinder will increase the overall zoom magnification while aiming down sights which increases the weapons effective range. Rampage is a classic damage-dealing perk that allows The Palindrome to do more raw damage after getting a kill and stacks up to 3 times.

For the Masterwork, Guardians may find a Range masterwork most beneficial to further increase The Palindrome’s range, which increases its accuracy since the two are connected in Destiny’s code. For the Mod, Guardians may find Backup Mag helpful if they are constantly reloading. Targeting Adjuster and Icarus grip are also extremely helpful as well. For Guardians with an Adept version of The Palindrome, there are even more options to choose from.

The Palindrome is an iconic Destiny Hand Cannon that has returned as strong as ever, even if it can no longer come with the Luck in the Chamber perk. Guardians who are lucky enough to get a god-rolled The Palindrome should find plenty of uses for it in any Destiny content.

Destiny 2: Beyond Light is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
