In the newest Strike for Destiny 2, Proving Ground, players can kill elite members of Caiatl’s Cabal army, including Val Vinca'ar and Val Veorthus.

A new triumph challenge is available for Destiny 2 players to complete that takes place in the latest Strike mission which was recently added as part of Season of the Chosen. The triumph “Eliminate Caiatl’s Cabal” tasks players with hunting down 10 elite Cabal that have a chance of appearing in certain encounters of the Proving Ground Strike, with Val Vinca'ar and Val Veorthus appearing in the power core encounter.

Proving Ground is now available to all Destiny 2 players and happens to be this week’s Nightfall Strike. Double Nightfall rewards and higher-difficulty completions means successful players can easily get plenty of enhancement prisms, ascendant shards, and great perk rolls on the must-have Palindrome Hand Cannon.

For each Cabal target elimination to count, players only need to contribute towards the kill and do not have to land the final blow or solo-kill any of the elite targets. All players should therefore coordinate with their fireteam members to call out any targets they spot so that everyone can contribute to the kill and progress the triumph.

Both Val Vinca'ar and Val Veorthus have a chance of spawning in the power core encounter where players must carry two orbs and deposit them into two terminals to redirect the power. Players should also note that unlike the Cabal targets in the vehicle bay room, targets in the power core rooms cannot be replaced by Helphas Honorguards. While only two targets can spawn in this encounter, players are at least guaranteed to find them in the same places every time.

As soon as players make it into the room where the first power core spawns, they should look out for Val Vinca'ar the Incendior. An elite Cabal always spawns on the platform that players walk onto, so it could either be Val Vinca'ar or Val Cempas, who is a Phalanx.

After players have deposited the first power core, they can head to the platform on the far side of the second power core room to find the Centurion Val Veorthus. Players should be aware that Optus Vocca, a Psion, can spawn instead of Val Veorthus. Scorpius turrets should be prioritized in this room as they can very easily kill players while they are jumping towards the far platform.

Once players have killed Val Vinca'ar, Val Veorthus, and the other eight Cabal targets, they will have completed the triumph, which is required to unlock the Season of the Chosen Seal and Title. Destiny 2 players must also complete several triumphs in the Battlegrounds playlist to complete this Seal.

Destiny 2: Beyond Light and the new Season of the Chosen are available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
