Wolcen's launch in early 2020 was both a huge success and a missed opportunity. Server issues at launch stunted the ARPG's incredible early adoption. Since then, however, developer Wolcen Studios has kept its nose to the grindstone. This past December, Wolcen received its 1.1 update, tagged as Wolcen's Chronicle I: Bloodtrail. Now, Wolcen Studios is getting ready to expand on Chronicle I with a new content update, which it's calling the Bloodstorm.
Wolcen: Bloodstorm will be another substantial expansion to the already significant content available in the Diablo-like ARPG. A teaser trailer for Bloodstorm highlighted some of the key areas Wolcen Studios will expand on. These include new dark and fantastical environments to explore and quest through, new skill damage-type modifiers, visual improvements for existing skills, and 30 new expedition levels for players to progress through.

There are smaller improvements confirmed for Bloodstorm intended to polish the Wolcen experience, too. One key area is Wolcen's dodge rolls, an area criticized by players before for not functioning fully. For example, fans should expect changes to the problem of not being able to dodge roll through enemies. Wolcen will also be adding functionality to allow pets to gather gold, which could potentially please any Torchlight fans. A new endgame armor project is also teased.
The one detail that Wolcen Studios isn't ready to tease regarding Wolcen's upcoming Bloodstorm DLC is its release window. All that Wolcen Studios is willing to say is that the content update will arrive soon. Considering how recently Bloodtrail was released, it may be some time yet before Bloodstorm arrives. But perhaps Wolcen Studios has upped its content release schedule and Wolcen will get updated sooner than expected.
Wolcen is available now on PC.
