10 Hidden Items in Bravely Default 2 (And Where To Find Them)

The continent of Excillant is full of hidden treasures for the Heroes of Light to find. Here are a few amazing items that players might have missed.

Bravely Default II is a JRPG video game that came out in February 2021 on the Nintendo Switch. It is the third entry in the Bravely series, following Bravely Default in October 2012 and Bravely Second: End Layer in April 2015. The game was developed by Claytechworks and published by Square Enix, as well as Nintendo themselves.

Bravely Default II takes place on the continent of Excillant, a world filled with many different regions featuring many different areas to explore. As Seth, Gloria, Elvis, and Adelle, the four heroes of light, go along their quest to defeat the Night's Nexus and save everyone, they adventure across many places. These locations have countless items hidden away in chests tucked away in rooms the player may or may not be aware of.

10 The Bulwark Blade In The Underground Reservoir

“A sturdy blade designed to blunt the blows of the wielder’s foes.”

In Chapter 1, the player will eventually travel to the Underground Reservoir. There, they will wander into an area filled with stalagmites and fight a Dagon, three Geleflans, and a Roxolotl. Also in this location is a Mimic Chest containing the Bulwark Blade.

The Bulwark Blade is a Sword that has Weight +11, Physical Attack +41, Physical Defense +10, Magical Defense +9, Restorative Power +4, Speed -2, Chance of Being Targeted +5, Aim +98, and Critical Chance +4.

9 The Hawkeye In Bernard's Mansion

“A single-edged axe optimized for battle.”

In Chapter 1, the player will visit Bernard's Mansion. In the house, there is a basement, and in the southern part of this basement, there is a hall that extends out to the water. Here, the player will find a Normal Chest containing the Hawkeye.

The Hawkeye is an Axe that has Weight +14, Physical Attack +52, Physical Defense +6, Speed -2, Change of Being Targeted +7, Aim +98, and Critical Chance +4.

8 The Oak Staff In Hydrangea Hills

"A staff carved from the trunk of a mighty tree."

In Chapter 1, the player will journey through Hydrangea Hills. At the end of the area, there is a stone path behind a tree that must be cut down. After chopping it down, they must fight four Lost Souls. They will then find a Mimic Chest containing the Oak Staff.

The Oak Staff boasts Weight +11, Physical Attack +35, Magical Attack +53, Restorative Power +16, Speed -1, Chance of Being Targeted +8, Aim +99, and Critical Chance +3.

7 The Hyper Bracers In The Wrecked Institute

"Wristwear shrouded in mystery that dramatically boosts the wearer's punching power."

In Chapter 2, the player will make their way through the Wrecked Institute. In the middle of the map, there is a hallway; at the end of it, they will find a Normal Chest containing the Hyper Bracers.

The Hyper Bracers are an accessory whose stats include Weight +5, Physical Attack +30, and Aim +10.

6 The Life Ring In Crystal's Resting Place

"A mysterious piece of jewelry that dramatically boosts the wearer's HP."

In Chapter 5, the player will delve into Crystal's Resting Place. Eventually, they will discover a room filled with water. In the southeastern part of this location, there is a raised platform. Here, the player must fight three Umbra Elements before finding a Mimic Chest with the Life Ring inside.

The Life Ring is an accessory that boasts Weight +4, HP +3300, Magical Attack -6, Magical Defense -5, and Restorative Power +15.

5 The Soul Of Thamasa In Crystal's Resting Place

"A charm said to contain the soul of a god that dramatically boosts mastery of attacking magic."

In Chapter 5, the player will explore Crystal's Resting Place. At the beginning of the room infested with tree roots, there is a maze. If they take the maze east, the player will find a Normal Chest containing the Soul of Thamasa.

The Soul of Thamasa is an accessory that has Weight +5 and Magical Attack +20.

4 The Hypnos Crown In The Halls Of Tribulation

"A unique crown named for a benevolent god."

In Chapter 6, the player will go through the Halls of Tribulation. There are seven parts to this location. In the Halls of Tribulation III, there is a Normal Chest found after the player defeats all three enemies. It contains the Hypnos Crown.

The Hypnos Crown is a helmet that increases Capture Rated by 10 percent. It has Weight +19, Physical Defense +44, Magical Defense +44, and Chance of Being Targeted +42.

3 The Hellplate In The Halls Of Tribulation

"Magic-enhancing armor once worn by a legendary demon with an insatiable desire for devastation."

Considering this location has seven parts, it's no surprise that the Hypnos Crown isn't the only hidden item in the Halls of Tribulation. In Halls of Tribulation V, the player will finda Normal Chest after defeating one, two, three enemies. It contains the Hellplate.

The Hellplate is armor that grants Fire and Light Resistance +1. It has Weight +23, Physical Defense +78, Magical Attack +22, Magical Defense +114, Evasion +10, Critical Chance +8, and Chance of Being Targeted +22.

2 The Maximillian In The Halls Of Tribulation

"Reputedly impregnable heavy armor worn by a knight who later became a mighty emperor."

Chapter 6 once again proves a rich chapter for collecting hidden items. In the Halls of Tribulation VI, the player once again finds a Normal Chest after they defeat three enemies. It contains the Maximillian.

The Maximillian is armor that gives Water and Wind Resistance +1. It has Weight +37, HP +1000, Physical Defense +122, Magical Defense +91, Speed -11, Evasion -9, and Chance of Being Targeted +36.

1 The Circlet In The Halls Of Tribulation

"A magic-enhancing crown that boosts the wearer's focus."

Finally, in the seventh and final part of this Chapter 6 location, the player can find one last hidden item. In the Halls of Tribulation VII, the last one, the player finds a Normal Chest after defeating not three, but four enemies. It contains the Circlet.

The Circlet is a helmet that gives Instant Death and Contagion Immunity. Additionally, it boasts Weight +14, Physical Defense +41, Magical Defense +46, Restorative Power +20, Chance of Being Targeted +39, and Critical Chance +10.
