Anemo is just one of seven elements players can use in this RPG. Here are a few facts you might not know about its powers.

Anemo is one of the seven elements in Genshin Impact, the miHoYo global sensation. The element utilizes gusts of wind, blasts of air, and even tornadoes to deal devastating blows that will send enemies flying through the sky. Anemo is an element that's good on its own but is best utilized in tandem with other elements. Multiple characters in the game utilize this ability, but one of the most important of all is the player character.

Anemo users tend to wear lots of green and white, symbolizing nature, peace, and a free spirit. Lots of characters in Genshin Impact are Anemo users, such as the polearm wielding Xiao and the prestigious knight Jean. Here are a few facts players should know about Anemo.

10 Anemo Is The Traveler's First Of Many Elements

The protagonist of Genshin Impact first comes across the element of Ameno, the powerful wind-based magic. However, the traveler can also take on the Geo element by interacting with a Geo statue of the seven in Liyue later on in the game.

This hints that when future updates unlock more regions, the traveler will be able to utilize every element. With Pyro, Electro, Hydro, Cryo, and Dendro remaining, players are excited to see which element the traveler will take on next.

9 There's No Anemo Status Effect

Hydro, Cryo, Electro, and Pyro all have status effects associated with their elements. Anemo is one of the few that doesn't. It's a powerful element on its own, but when used in tandem with other elemental users, its power can be enhanced.

Switching characters out to best utilize the elemental impact of Anemo's abilities is a smart strategy. This can be boosted with different items that increase a character's attack or crit chance when switching out characters.

8 It Can Activate A Swirl Of Elements

While Anemo may not have a status effect associated with it, Anemo users do have a unique ability: swirl. When an Anemo ability interacts with an attack of a different element, a devastating swirl of magic occurs. This causes area-of-effect damage to all enemies in the area, using the element that the Anemo energy mixed with.

This ability has a relatively low cool down and can deal devastating damage to enemies, especially in groups. However, only one element at a time can be fused with Anemo, so players must be wary of the elemental typing of their enemies.

7 Anemo Absorbs Other Elements

When an Anemo ability comes into contact with an ability or attack of another element, it only sometimes triggers the swirl effect due to cooldowns. But every time anemo abilities collide with other elements, elemental absorption will be triggered.

This passive ability makes it so that the Anemo ability takes on the element it has collided with, dealing that element's damage instead. For example, if an Anemo ability were to collide with a Pyro ability, the Anemo ability would deal Pyro damage instead.

6 The Windy Elemental Resonance Ability

Anemo's elemental resonance ability is Impetuous Winds. This passive ability is triggered when two Anemo characters are in the same party. The ability decreases a player's stamina consumption by 15% and cooldown time on abilities by 5%.

In addition, Impetuous Winds increases movement speed by 10%. It's a great ability for players who love fast gameplay and want to utilize multiple Anemo characters in their party at once.

5 It's A Five-Star Element

Anemo is an ace of an element in Genshin Impact. Almost every single playable Anemo character in the game has a rarity of five-stars. The only one who doesn't is Sucrose, but even she is a four-star character. This goes to show that Anemo users are a force to be reckoned with. Their windy abilities will knock enemies off their feet, or dozens of feet in the air.

Getting an Anemo character is not only rare, but an achievement. Anemo characters are some of the rarest in the game, so rolling one through wishes is always exciting for players.

4 The Anemo Hypostasis Enemy

The Anemo Hypostasis is a formidable foe who lives in the Stormbearer Mountains near Mondstadt. This boss was once a human Anemo user who abandoned their form to become pure Anemo essence.

Defeating one of these bosses will give players drops that will help improve their Anemo characters. The key to taking them down is to constantly do damage while avoiding the Hypostasis' many attacks.

3 The Anemo Archon's Easygoing Nature

One of the few archons who still roams the world of Genshin Impact is Barbatos, the anemo archon. He holds dominion over Mondstadt, but would rather roam free and let his people rule themselves.

Barbatos is a carefree spirit who values freedom, so he doesn't hold any major control over his people. Because of this, he's widely liked by the people of Mondstadt. Prior to the archon war, Barbatos formed a bond with a nameless bard and became a bard himself.

2 Mondstadt Is Home of the Wind

The city of Mondstadt is the home of many an Anemo user. It's also the location that the Anemo archon calls home, and where he has the most power. Mondstadt is the first city the player encounters in Genshin Impact and is quite a large one at that. With many shops and buildings to explore, it's easy to see how its free-flowing and winding roads are the home of the wind-based element.

The people of Mondstadt worship Barbatos, their nation's archon. Their way of life is all about freedom and taking it easy. But don't confuse that for laziness—they're very hardworking people.

1 Venti Is An Archon In The Flesh

Venti is a bow-using Anemo character that's playable in the game. They're often called the windborne bard as they're a traveler with a love for playing music, though Paimon will playfully call them the "tone-deaf bard" out of spite.

Venti is playful and cheery but has a deep secret: he's actually the archon Barbatos himself. Venti will speak differently when presenting as Barbatos, wanting to keep his two identities secret.
