Popular YouTuber JGOD discovers that using a specific attachment can instantly make certain Sniper Rifles overpowered in Call of Duty: Warzone.

The current meta of Call of Duty: Warzone may be built around the FFAR and AUG, but a new discovery could see Sniper Rifles replacing the weapons after they are nerfed. According to Call of Duty: Warzone YouTuber JGOD, one attachment can make all the difference for those using the guns.

While the size of Verdansk would certainly suggest that Snipers should be a weapon of choice, they are far less viable than one may think. After all, while Sniper Rifles are obviously great for long range engagements, they are rarely viable for close quarters action. Far too slow to use when players are fighting inside a building or another tight space, players only ever use the guns as secondaries. That may soon change, however.

While Call of Duty: Warzone’s FFAR and AUG will not be going anywhere for some time, their future replacements may have already been determined. If players equip the Serpent Wrap in the Rear Grip slot, they will notice a major difference in the handling speed of Sniper Rifles. While the attachment is described as something that provides a boost to sprint to fire time, it is also proving to give a huge increase to ADS time. For anyone familiar with sniping, this is a massive buff.

JGOD’s testing shows that equipping Serpent Wrap on the LW3 Tundra or Pelington 703 allows them to be aimed at an insanely fast rate. In fact, both can now be aimed quicker than the SPR if the attachment is used, with the video showing just how crazy this speed increase is. Players skilled at quick scoping can now do so with incredible ease in Call of Duty: Warzone, so much so that the Kar98 Sniper Rifle may have been dethroned as the best option within its class.

It will be interesting to see how players react to this discovery, as Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s weapons have proven to be incredibly overpowered within Call of Duty: Warzone thus far. In Season 1, the DMR 14 and MAC-10 were both broken, with many believing that the pairing made the game unplayable. In Season 2, the AUG and FFAR meta has been unavoidable, with the pair of guns even making Dr Disrespect delete Call of Duty: Warzone. Now, it seems like two Sniper Rifles from Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will be part of the game’s next meta.

It will be interesting to see if the new ZRG 20mm Sniper Rifle proves just as deadly as the Pelington 703 and the LW3 Tundra. For now, though, it seems like fans of sniping in Call of Duty: Warzone will want to take JGOD’s advice and throw the Serpent Wrap on one of these two guns.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
