Reggie Fils-Aime, former president of Nintendo of America, will host a roundtable with other gaming leaders ahead of the New York Game Awards tonight.

Anyone who pays attention to the video game world has probably heard of Reggie Fils-Aime, who served as the president and COO of Nintendo of America until 2019. The Nintendo icon even has a Video Game Hall of Fame Lifetime Achievement Award. Fils-Aime has announced that he will be hosting a gaming roundtable with two other major industry leaders ahead of tonight's New York Game Awards.

Fils-Aime may have retired from Nintendo, but his prolific career hasn't ended. He has certainly kept himself busy by joining GameStop's Board of Directors, working as strategic advisor for Rogue Games, and is even on the board for Brunswick Corporation. The former Nintendo of America president has also been involved with the New York Videogame Critics Circle (NYVGCC), the group behind the New York Game Awards, whose non-profit work helps underserved communities in multiple ways.

Fils-Aime's Industry Icons Roundtable will air on the TwitchGaming channel tonight at 6:30 EST, before the 10th annual New York Game Awards. The roundtable will be moderated by Adrian "Okaydrian" F.E., a full-time host and Twitch streamer. Fils-Aime will be joined by two other gaming industry leaders, Robbie Bach and Jack Tretton.

Bach is the former president of Microsoft/Xbox, and retired from the company in 2010 after originating the Xbox and launching the Xbox 360. Tretton was part of the team that originated the PlayStation, and served as the President and CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment America from 2006 until Tretton retired from Sony America in 2014. Bach and Tretton have remained well-respected leaders and advisors for their respective companies, so they may be able to offer some useful insight on the current gaming industry.

Any viewers that watch the livestream will also be able to ask Fils-Aime, Bach, and Tretton some of their own questions. While these will of course be moderated, it will be interesting to hear what kinds of questions and discussions will come up. This roundtable follows another interview that Fils-Aime did with Hideo Kojima, who is receiving a Legend Award from the NYVGCC.

Since the Industry Icons Roundtable will lead straight into the New York Game Awards, those who tune in will certainly be able to get some of these leaders' opinions on the nominees for the 2021 New York Game Awards. Much like The Game Awards, tonight's awards show will hand out awards across multiple categories, will treat fans to special musical performances, and may even have some new game announcements.

The New York Game Awards will air tonight, January 26, at 8PM EST on Twitch and YouTube.
