Six more weekly seasonal challenges have arrived in Destiny 2, with one rewarding players with an Igneous Hammer Hand Cannon upon completion.

With Destiny 2 reaching week eight of Season of the Chosen, six new seasonal challenges have been added for players to complete. All the challenges are reasonably simple this week, with one Trials of Osiris-based challenge rewarding players with the coveted Igneous Hammer Hand Cannon.

Destiny 2 players will need to run the Proving Ground Nightfall several times and endure a few matches of Trials of Osiris. Meanwhile, the other challenges require players to venture into Legendary Lost Sectors and to go through Strikes to get the Panacea ornament for Salvager’s Salvo.

Here are the six seasonal challenges for week eight in Destiny 2:

This challenge requires players to get 50 kills with Sidearms or Linear Fusion Rifles and to complete three Nightfall Strikes specifically in the Nightfall: The Ordeal version of the new Proving Ground Strike.

It is strongly recommended that players get this challenge done as soon as possible this week as Proving Ground will not come back as the Nightfall for some time. Otherwise, players may have to give the incredibly challenging Grandmaster difficulty a go instead.

Players simply need to get 300 kills in Legendary Lost Sectors using Sniper Rifles, SMGs, Bows, or Rocket Launchers. This challenge is not particularly difficult but will require players to run multiple Legendary Lost Sectors to get this done. A strong weapon loadout would be the Extraordinary Rendition SMG, the Ticuu’s Divination exotic Bow, and the Code Duello Rocket Launcher.

For this challenge, players need to unlock 10 focusing lenses at the Prismatic Recaster in the H.E.L.M. When a player opens up the Prismatic Recaster menu, they will see rows of Umbral Engram focusing options, some of which may be locked off. Players can hover the cursor over each icon to see the challenge required to unlock each focusing option.

By playing lots of Battlegrounds missions and using each of the Season of the Chosen and Season Pass weapons, players can get 10 lenses unlocked quite easily.

This challenge requires players to kill 40 Primeval Envoys in Gambit. This is one of the more time-consuming challenges as it will require a lot of Gambit matches to complete. When players bank enough motes to summon their Primeval, two Taken Wizard Envoys will spawn with it. Players should focus on killing these as quickly as possible for the challenge. More Envoys will eventually spawn throughout the Primeval boss fight so it is possible to get more than two Envoy kills per match.

Players need to win seven rounds in Trials of Osiris matches to complete this challenge. Players can theoretically complete this challenge in two Trials matches and this challenge also rewards players with quadruple XP, Bright Dust, and an Igneous Hammer Hand Cannon.

For this challenge, players need to unlock the Panacea ornament for the Salvager’s Salvo Grenade Launcher. After players have unlocked the weapon, they will need to speak to Commander Zavala in the Tower Courtyard to pick up his quest which rewards players with the Vanguard-themed ornament.

Destiny 2: Beyond Light and the new Season of the Chosen are available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
