Ys 9: Monstrum Nox fans may be excited to hear that the game has received an update that will deliver 4K resolution support, as well as some other minor bug fixes. The update is currently available in Japan and will patch the game to version 1.07.
For those unfamiliar with the title, Ys 9: Monstrum Nox is a third-person action JRPG and is the ninth installment in the series. It focuses on the adventures of Adol Christin in the city of Balduq. The series was developed by Nihon Falcom, which this year celebrated its 40th year anniversary. The game was released in Japan in 2019 and later released internationally earlier this year.

On the game's website, Falcom notes the contents of the update. The post states that version 1.07 will allow for Ys 9: Monstrum Nox to fully operate at 4K resolution when being played on the PlayStation 5. Players who previously attempted to load the game using the PS5 may have experienced performance issues and frequent crashes. As the Ys 9: Monstrum Nox is not currently available as a PS5 game, but can still be played via backward compatibility, this newest patch improves the game's performance on the next-gen console. The update will also include various other bug fixes, including an issue some players experienced involving not being able to use the confirm button to send a message.
As of now, the update has only been released in Japan. Currently, the English version has been updated up to version 1.01. Other regions will have to be patient for more news regarding future updates.
Ys 9: Monstrum Nox is currently available on the PS4 and the PS 5 via backward compatibility, and is expected to launch for the Nintendo Switch and PC via the Steam Store this coming summer.
