EA's "The 50" promotion introduced new cards to Madden NFL 21. Which of these legendary football players make the best choices in Ultimate Team?

EA did an incredible job with promotions this year, despite a few glaring issues with franchise mode. Their "The 50" promotion introduced fifty special cards to Madden 21 Ultimate Team. Gamers can upgrade the fresh cards to create a 90+ rated stacked card. Nearly every stacked "The 50" card is good, but there are ten that stand out as the best to use in MUT 21.

Below, these top ten "The 50" cards are ranked from worst to best. Each of the cards earned their ranking based on relevant position stats, value for coins, as well as versatility. Players may be surprised by the cards that end up at the bottom of this list.

10 Julius Peppers

Julius Peppers is a massive, powerful, and aware defensive end with endless upsides. The only stat that lets him down is his subpar speed. Ranking at only at 86, lots of players higher on this list can outrun this card.

However, Peppers make up for his slow pace with deflections and run defense. While the card is a great option to choose, defensive ends can only make so much of an impact in Madden 21.

9 Aaron Rodgers

Rodgers is incredible with Gunslinger equipped. The Packers legend has all of the necessary stats for an effective quarterback in MUT 21.

However, he would rank higher in the list if the card has a little more speed. Madden Quarterbacks need to have a speed stat of least 80 speed to outrun defensive linemen and buy time on play action passes. Rodgers is an amazing player, but the card is just slightly too slow to make the top of the list.

8 Rob Gronkowski

In game, Gronk outperforms most of the receivers on the field. He may not be the fastest player, but he makes up for it with an amazing catch radius, strength, and run blocking.

Gronk is one of the best multi faceted tight ends in the game, and that provides teams with a utility that not many cards have. Few fans understand how good of a run/pass player Gronkowski is in real life as well. Players will love using the card, but there are even better options below.

7 Warren Sapp

Warren Sapp played a crucial role in the Buccaneers first Super Bowl victory in 2003. Sapp was dominant in Madden 20, and he is just as effective this year. The card has 94 mobility and lists Sapp at 300 pounds.

The card is a good representation of how Sapp played in his prime. Unlike most huge linemen, Sapp had the agility, awareness, and strength to navigate the trenches. Gamers will have a solid centerpiece if they decide to add Sapp to their lineup.

6 Sean Taylor

Madden continues to pay tribute to one of the best safeties of all time. Taylor was a fearless enforcer in the middle of the field that played just before the NFL created the defenseless receiver rules. In game, Taylor is one of the best at defending the run and breaking up passes in zone.

He will, have a few mishaps in man coverage. Still, Taylor is an incredible card that will make an impact all over the pitch. The card has the right speed, pursuit, and zone coverage to be the captain of any defensive unit.

5 Lawrence Taylor

As a linebacker, Taylor boasts impressive stats with 92 speed and 91 agility. Taylor has speed, strength, pursuit, tacking, and everything else a top tier linebacker needs in Madden.

He is definitely a liability in coverage. However, players can use the card in a blitz heavy scheme to take advantage of the card's pass rushing stats and power rusher archetype.

4 Michael Vick

All but one of Vick's key stats are in the 90s. The card has 95 speed and 95 passing on the run with 97 throwing power. This card can do it all from in the pocket, outside the pocket, or on the ground.

Vick is unquestionably a top ten quarterback in the game, and he is so much fun to use in MUT 21. However, there are a few players that are better options for a team as a whole. It is much easier to find a QB that is serviceable than a DB or WR for example.

3 Randy Moss

It goes without saying that every Moss card in Madden has been overpowered since the franchise moved to the PlayStation in 2000. All players have to do is throw the ball deep and Moss will do what he does best.

The card's relevant stats are 95 speed, 95 acceleration, 94 agility, and 96 jumping. All of the card's important receiving stats are in the 90s as well. Additionally, since he stands at 6'4", any defense will struggle in vain to knock the ball away from Randy Moss.

2 Barry Sanders

Barry Sanders is one of the top running backs in the game, without question. He is extremely fast and agile, with 94 juke moves. Sanders is not weak either; the card has an 87 power rating despite only having 76 strength.

Unfortunately, players will not want to throw the ball this card all that often. Sanders will catch swing passes and screens, but anything beyond ten yards is risky. While the Sanders card is S tier, there is more upside to be had with the other Sanders below.

1 Deion Sanders

Falcons fans know how unbelievable Deion Sanders was in his heyday. Gamers will be able to plug and place Sanders wherever they want on the field. He can be an elite lockdown corner throughout Madden 21 and players will not even need to upgrade the card.

Sanders has 96 speed and 99 acceleration, with S tier defensive stats. The card is also great after the catch with 96 COD and 92 juke moves. Sanders can play receiver, slot, tailback, corner, and safety, among other positions. There is just too much value and versatility in the card for players to pass it up.
