There are tons of awesome weapons for you to find in Prey. Here's where you can find every single one.

As players explore the Talos I research station in Prey they’re going to need the right weapons to survive. There are a number of different horrors and enemies stalking the halls and each require a different approach to overcome making having a varied arsenal of tools extremely important.

Ideally the player should and likely will accumulate every weapon in the game. If the player is having trouble it’s likely something that an unfound weapon could easily fix. For players working their way through the first time or finding themselves struggling here’s every weapon available and where to find it.

11 Wrench

The Wrench is a basic melee weapon and the first the player will obtain in the game. It’s found on the body of Patricia Varma who is found outside of Morgan’s apartment during the early events of the game.

Its by far the easiest weapon to find as the player cannot progress the main story without finding it. This weapon will be immensely helpful for conserving ammo and works great with the Gloo Cannon. Its effectiveness can be enhanced with a number of Neuromods.

10 Gloo Cannon

The Gloo Cannon is the next weapon the player will come across as they progress. It’s found in the Neuromod Division right outside the security checkpoint leading to the lobby. The player will find it among some discharged Gloo.

The weapon is designed to immobilize hostiles for a short period of time. Players can glom an enemy down before bashing it with a wrench, shooting it with a weapon, or run away. It also serves as a mobility tool to create platforms of Gloo for the player to climb up and plug various environmental hazards.

9 Disruptor Stun Gun

The Disruptor Stun Gun is a great tool for incapacitating enemies. The player can find a number scattered throughout Talos I. The first place is the second floor of the Neuromod Division Foyer on a corpse. Another is the Simulation Debriefing Room on top of the blue recorders.

This weapon is useful for stunning enemies in order to follow up with another weapon. They are especially effective against Technopaths and will drop an Operator or Turret making them easier to manage. At the very least this weapon is good to hang onto to safely incapacitate humans that have been mind-controlled.

8 Shotgun

The Shotgun will likely be the player’s go to weapon for various combat encounters in the game. There are three ways to obtain one. The first is in the main Lobby by the entrance to the Neuromod Division, it’ll be on Nash Underwood’s body. Another, if the player is on Nightmare Difficulty, is on top of a desk in the main lobby near the holding room. The final option is if players bought the Cosmonaut Pack DLC.

They’ll obtain The Margrave which is aesthetically different but functionally the same as a regular Shotgun stashed in the cabinet in Morgan’s office.

Players will want to hoard Shotgun ammo for dealing with anything bigger than a Mimic or Operator. It’s the go-to weapon for Phantoms and can bring down a Nightmare with enough shots. It’s a good idea to upgrade this and keep a steady supply of ammo for it.

7 Huntress Boltcaster

The Huntress Boltcaster is more of a tool than a weapon. It can be found by Kelly Randolph’s desk is the Sales Division. Alternatively players can fabricate it if they find one of the many blueprints throughout the facility.

It deals absolutely no damage to most enemies in the game. The only thing it can kill are Cystoids and their Nests which is admittedly handy for conserving more valuable ammo. That being said it can be used to trigger buttons and screens from afar and distract enemies.

6 Silenced Pistol

The Silenced Pistol is a handy weapon for quietly taking out enemies. There are a number of Pistols the player can find throughout the facility. The first likely and easiest is in the Teleconferencing room across from the Executive Offices. Make sure you pick the correct one as the other is a Mimic.

5 Q-Beam

The Q-Beam is the single most powerful weapon in the game if used correctly. There are at least five places to find it on Talos I. The most likely is in the Beams and Waves Lab in the Hardware Labs. Another is on Josh Dalton’s corpse floating in G.U.T.S. Stashed in a freezer in Crew Quarters. Cargo Bay B near Sarah Elazar in the Security Command Post. The final one is floating by the corpse of Marianna Arias in space.

The weapon is a continuous laser that essentially primes a target for death. Their healthbar will slowly fill up with green. If it completely replaces the red/blue portion of their healthbar they’ll explode. The key is to wear down the enemy’s health before or after using to minimize the amount of ammo needed. It the player fails to replace their healthbar the enemy will gradually heal and the Q-Beam will have done zero damage.

4 EMP Charge

The EMP Charge is a grenade that will knock out electronic activity. They’re located throughout the facility and can be fabricated with the Fabrication Plan which is found on Eric Berger’s corpse in G.U.T.S.

This is a fantastic weapon for bringing down robotic enemies like operators and turrets as well as knocking out Technopaths. Players can drop the enemy with one Charge and follow up with any other weapon. You’ll want a handful of these when facing Military Operators later in the game.

3 Nullwave Transmitter

The Nullwave Transmitter is effectively the EMP Charge for Typhons. They are found throughout the facility and the Fabrication Plans are in a storage closet in the bottom of the control room for Atmosphere.

The Transmitter will knock out the Psionic abilities of anything it’s near. This is the silver bullet for dealing with Telepaths, Phantoms, and Weavers.

2 Typhon Lure

The Typhon Lure is like the Boltcaster of grenades. There are a number found throughout the facility and the Fabrication Plans is on a corpse in the flooded monitoring room of the Power Plant.

The Typhon Lure will emit a signal that draws Typhon, Corrupter Operators, and mind controlled humans to it. Players can lure enemies into a kill box before tossing a Recycler Charge in the middle or using another weapon.

1 Recycler Charge

The Recycler Charge is arguably one of the more useful weapons in this Sci-Fi game. It’s found in a number of places, but the first is likely the Ballistics Lab in Hardware Labs. The Fabrication Plans are in Jorgen Thorstein’s quarters in Crew Quarters.

When used the Recycler Charge will draw in any object in its proximity before blasting them out as crafting materials, this includes enemies. It deals a whopping 200 damage without needing upgrades and can convert their bodies into Organic, Synthetic, Mineral, or Exotic materials. Aside from combat this tool can be used to convert objects into materials using some to craft more Recycler Charges to convert more objects.
