Season 9 of Apex Legends is around the corner and it may feature more Titanfall content than ever before according to developer Respawn Entertainment.

With each new season of Apex Legends comes a brand new Legend, usually a new weapon, map changes, and more. Season 8 brought the list of Legends to 16 with the addition of Fuse, but many are already looking to Season 9, which should be about a month away. Now, some Apex Legends development members have spoken up about what may be around the corner for the game, and apparently it will be heavy on the Titanfall content.

Apex Legends and Titanfall live in the same universe, as the two games share lore, weapons, and more. There are those who would like to see Respawn Entertainment dive deeper into its Titanfall roots with content in Apex Legends; beyond a new gun or two that is inspired by the games, and that may be what is on the way.

Recently a developer panel was hosted by BrownGirlGamerCode on Twitch. Apex Legends Game Director Chad Grenier promised that "a ton" of Titanfall content is on the way in Season 9 for Apex Legends. Grenier says that one way or another, especially for Titanfall fans, there will be a lot of cool stuff added to the game. There have been rumors of Blisk coming to Apex Legends with a Titan as his ability. Blisk was a character in Titanfall, so that would certainly be interesting.

In talking about Titanfall's incorporation into the battle royale moving forward, Senior Writer Ashley Reed over at Respawn Entertainment had some interesting things to say. She talked about how Apex Legends takes place after the war within Titanfall, and how they are integrating that into the game and story. The recent Heirloom video between Bangalore and Wraith for Apex Legends is just that, as Wraith talks about a data knife from the Pilot days of the war and Bangalore does not seem to like it.

The Titanfall heavy content for the battle royale could be interesting because recently the game director of Apex Legends said that the next Legend would appeal to the Japanese audience as well. It will be intriguing to see if Season 9 can pull off both of those promises, whether it be in the form of Legends, guns, map, story, etc.

What’s going on in Titanfall is a war, Apex is what happens after the war, like what is life like in this place? So we’re trying to integrate Titanfall into that, because Titanfall’s very much a part of the universe.

Even before Apex Legends was announced in 2019, there were hints of a Titanfall battle royale, which likely would have shared the massive mech gameplay of Titanfall. Of course, that game became Apex Legends, and that was for the better based on the success of the game. Respawn Entertainment may now be working on Titanfall 3, which would be extremely exciting for fans of the series.

Apex Legends is available now on PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
