Players who want stylish and effective gear in Monster Hunter Rise can use this guide to find Dreamshells and make some of the best armor in the game.

Monster Hunter Rise provides a great many rewards to players who complete quests and slay mighty enemies. A hunter's progression is all about crafting better and better gear from the spoils of previous triumphs. However, some of the best and most unique equipment can only be obtained by more unusual means. The Dreamshell item is one of the rare treasures that players will need to make several coveted arms and armors in Monster Hunter Rise.

Dreamshell has a few uses, notably in crafting the Shell-Studded armor set. Aside from being a stylish outfit, each piece of Shell-Studded gear grants equipment skills that enhance the effectiveness of various ammo types. Hunters who use the Light Bowgun or Heavy Bowgun, or who are interested in learning more about the Bowgun weapon, will want to make a point to collect Dreamshells and work towards forging this useful armor.

Anyone trying to get their hands on the Dreamshell item in Monster Hunter Rise will want to make use of Trade Requests with the Argosy. By speaking to Rondine in the Buddy Plaza and assigning a Palico or Palamute to embark on a Trade Request, players can rake in lots of useful materials that will come in handy on hunts. Sometimes, a Buddy will bring back rare items that weren't necessarily expected. Knowing how to influence the bonus items brought back by the Argosy is the key to earning Dreamshells.

The possible rare items that can be obtained from a Trade Request can be seen in the Argosy menu, as shown in the screenshot above. Players who want to grab some Dreamshells will need to examine all the items that can be targeted for a Trade Request and see if Dreamshell is listed as a possible bonus. As it happens, any item that falls under the "Mushyroom Market" category will potentially yield Dreamshell as a bonus.

In the Trade Request menu, under Select Item, players should scroll to the third tab. This is the tab with the mushroom and insect icons. The items in this tab are all "Mushyroom Market" items. In the attempts to bring in Dreamshells, it could be wise to harvest Flashbugs for crafting Flash Bombs or Parashrooms for crafting the Tranq Bombs needed to capture monsters. After selecting an item to request, the process can be enhanced by using Buddy Bargaining options with Kamura points or Lagniapples.

Hunters who are struggling to defeat the powerful monsters in Monster Hunter Rise can use some of these alternative methods to craft effective gear. Items such as the Dreamshell are easy to obtain with the help of NPCs, and they are highly useful in both Low Rank and even High Rank quests. The Argosy isn't the only way to utilize Buddies to harvest unique items, either. The Meowcenaries also bring rare finds back after a venture.

Monster Hunter Rise is now available on Nintendo Switch and a PC port is coming in 2022.
