Call of Duty Mobile continues to grow, with developer TiMi Studios already beginning to roll out some teasers for Season 3. One of the images meant to hype up the next Season of Call of Duty Mobile depicts the shadow of a SMG, and just the outline of the gun should serve as a dead giveaway for series veterans.
Call of Duty Mobile has proven very profitable for Tencent and Activision, with the game finding success due to consistent content additions and open dialogue between TiMi Studios and the game’s community. Like past Seasons, Call of Duty Mobile’s next major update will bring back some fan-favorite content. While roadmaps have not yet been released, players now know the instantly recognizable PP19 Bizon will be making its debut come April 17.

Like with other early gun teasers, TiMi Studios made a game out of the weapon reveal, asking Call of Duty Mobile fans to identify the gun via its shadow. The comments are filled with fans pointing out that the Bizon is on the way, as the weapon features an instantly recognizable design that helps it stand apart from the other guns in its class. While the gun is compact like other SMGs, it is massive, and there are no other weapons that share its water bottle-like magazine. A tiny barrel also adds to the gun’s odd shape, making it even more distinguishable.
The PP19 Bizon has a long history in the Call of Duty series. Originally planned for Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, the gun was scrapped, instead making its debut in 2011’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. In this game, it went by the name PP90M1. The gun then returned in 2013’s Call of Duty: Ghosts before going on a hiatus. It reappeared in 2019’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare reboot, with the gun doubling as a Call of Duty: Warzone weapon as well.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War features the latest appearance of the weapon, with it once again getting a name change. While it goes by the name Bullfrog as opposed to PP19, it looks and functions the same. The gun has a reputation of being a pea shooter, as its rounds do relatively low damage to opponents in all its multiplayer appearances. However, this is offset by a high rate of fire and pinpoint accuracy. The gun’s unique magazine also ensures players have plenty of bullets in every clip.
It will be interesting to see how the weapon holds up in battle royale gameplay or the returning Call of Duty Zombies mode. In multiplayer, Call of Duty Mobile players can likely expect the PP19 Bizon to control like it has in its previous Call of Duty appearances.
Call of Duty Mobile is available now on Android and iOS mobile devices.
