This guide will help players decide which insects or monsters to hunt to get the High Rank material Monster Broth in Monster Hunter Rise.

In Monster Hunter Rise, players are put in the role of a hunter who must protect their village from a calamitous rampage of beasts. Even when the day is saved, there is still plenty to do for dedicated fans of Monster Hunter Rise. There comes a point when the best thing a hunter can do is craft more gear and prepare as much as possible for future hunts that will be added as DLC. One rare material that players will need when upgrading their arsenal is Monster Broth.

Monster Broth is a valuable material that's needed for many crafts. When forging armor, players will need it for the Mosgharl set. Some of the weapon crafting and upgrades that require Monster Broth are the Ladybug Cannon or any of the "Secta" Sword & Shield weapons from the Bnahabra trees. One thing to note is that Monster Broth is a High Rank material, so players who have not increased their Hunter Rank would be jumping the gun if they tried to find this material.

Monster Broth, and its low-rank equivalent Monster Fluid, are primarily obtained from insect-type creatures. Rachnoid, Bnahabra, and Altaroth are all viable options. Since insects have a tendency to be obliterated upon defeat and are thus not able to be carved, it may be wise to slay them gently with Poison Smoke Bombs. Players who make regular use of the Argosy will likely have a good stock of materials for crafting Poison Smoke Bombs and other useful items.

In the case of Altaroth, they are known to drop extra materials on the ground if they're defeated when their sacs are full as seen in the screenshot above. Stalking a group of Altaroth and waiting to strike until after they've eaten is a good way to rake in more rewards. Regardless of which insect a hunter chooses to farm for their Monster Broth, the best way to go about it is to embark on a High Rank Expedition during an insect upsurge. Alternatively, it's possible to earn Monster Broth as a bonus reward for quests that specifically target insects as an objective. An example of this would be the 6-star Hub quest "The Lava Caverns Sweep."

For hunters who sigh at the prospect of hunting small creatures, it's possible to obtain Monster Broth from more worthy opponents. Volvidon have a decent chance at dropping Monster Broth during High Rank quests. Rakna-Kadaki is the best choice, though. In addition to possibly yielding Monster Broth from carving or capturing, Rakna-Kadaki also offers a 20% chance at Monster Broth if the player inflicts a head break during the quest.

Players who have made it far enough into Monster Hunter Rise to be searching for Monster Broth will know that hunting monsters for loot is intensely satisfying. The Monster Hunter series is notorious for providing an amazing loot progression system that can be enjoyed alone or with a party of other hunters. Suffice it to say, fans won't stop hustling for monster rewards anytime soon.

Monster Hunter Rise is now available on Nintendo Switch, and a PC port is coming in 2022.
