With only a few weeks until the highly anticipated nuke event in Call of Duty: Warzone, a fan may have stumbled upon a bug showing an early bomb drop.

Call of Duty: Warzone's long-awaited nuke event is getting closer, with a major incident potentially blowing up Verdansk when season 2 ends on April 21st. This event has been teased for months, and all signs seem to point to the end of this current season as the launch date for the nuke. At least, this is what fans expect, with a great deal of speculation surrounding Black Ops Cold War and Warzone's season 3 brewing. However, it appears that some players might have already seen what lies in store for Verdansk.

With any battle royale game, the map on which the game is played is just as much a character as the person or avatar the player selects before dropping in. A good map, like Verdansk, makes the game easily replayable, as evidenced by the millions of players happily dropping countless hours into Call of Duty: Warzone. While Verdansk has only seen minor changes since its introduction last year, fans are excited about the overhaul expected to arrive in a few weeks time. While it is possible that Warzone's nuke event might not live up to the hype, fans are still watching with some degree of anticipation to see what will happen next.

To that point, it would seem that some players have seen a premature teaser of what is to come in Verdansk, with captured in-game footage showing a warhead falling from the sky and glitching through the restaurant found near the apartment towers in the middle of the map. There is no explosion, and the game doesn't end, but the appearance of the warhead gives an ominous look at what might be ahead for Call of Duty: Warzone.

The odd sight captured by the player could be the nuke finally hitting Verdansk, but with nothing else happening after the missile vanishes in the video, there is little else to work with to know definitively what is to come. Fans will continue to speculate just how the upcoming event will play out, but as they wait fans have also been hard at work creating amazing movie poster fan art of Warzone. The nuke event being on the top of everyone's minds who is at all invested in the game.

With only a few weeks until the end of Season 2, players won't have to wait long before something happens. There have been leaks that suggest that the new Warzone map will be an 80s themed Verdansk, which has fans nervous after the expectation was for a completely new map to be revealed. Only a few weeks and fans will have their answer, whatever happens it should be a big turning point for Call of Duty: Warzone.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
