Call of Duty Warzone players have a choice between Advanced UAVs and Triple UAVs, and there are some crucial differences between the two.

When playing Call of Duty: Warzone, having the right intel is sometimes just as important as having the skills needed to stay alive. In terms of finding opponents, there's arguably nothing better than UAVs. These powerful items mark enemy locations on the map, but for the best coverage players have a few options. For a long time it has been known that using three UAVs at once reveals the location of everyone on the map, including the direction they are facing, but this method has a fatal flaw. Now Warzone player JGOD explains why it is actually better for players to get an Advanced UAV rather than Triple UAVs.

For all intents and purposes, the Advanced UAV and Triple UAVs in Call of Duty: Warzone function very similarly. The almost identical nature of the two causes many to ponder what the purpose of including them at all is. That said, there is one fundamental difference that will make players choose the Advanced UAV over the Triple UAV every time.

JGOD explains that the Triple UAVs have the unfortunate drawback of not showing players that have the Ghost perk if they are within 250 meters of the player. While this may seem like a minor inconvenience at first, it can be devastating as the game draws to a close and there are fewer players left in small space. By contrast, the Advanced UAV is able to spot players even if they have the Ghost perk. In fact, there is nothing that another player can do to conceal their position from a player with the Advanced UAV active.

The Advanced UAV has been in Call of Duty: Warzone for a while now, but it was significantly harder to get before. Rather than having to seek out locked bunkers for a chance to find the killstreak, players can now purchase them from Containment Monitor Stations. These upgraded buy stations can be found inside bunkers and missile silos, and allow players to get an Advanced UAV killstreak for $12,000. As a killstreak, players can carry this around and use it whenever they see fit, meaning it is even easier to use than the triple UAV method.

Although it is ultimately up to the player to decide when they use the Advanced UAV, JGOD recommends holding onto it until the end of the game. Once there are only eight or fewer teams left and the map size has shrunk down significantly, it becomes more and more important to know the location of enemies.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
