Deadly Premonition 2: A Blessing in Disguise is coming to PC later this year according to a 2021 annual report from the publisher.

Deadly Premonition 2: A Blessing in Disguise was a sequel to the cult classic original that few fans expected. Fans were surprised further when Deadly Premonition 2: A Blessing in Disguise was announced in July 2020 as a Nintendo Switch exclusive.

When Deadly Premonition 2: A Blessing in Disguise launched it had severe performance issues on the Switch and was criticized for its handling of a transgender character, for which the game's director later apologized. Over time, Deadly Premonition 2: A Blessing in Disguise was patched to have its performance greatly improved and eliminate its infamously disastrous framerate during outdoor traversal that sees the protagonist skateboarding around the quiet small town the game is set in.

Now, in the 2020 annual report from the game's publisher's parent company, Thunderful Group, it has been revealed that Deadly Premonition 2: A Blessing in Disguise is planned to make its way to Steam sometime in 2021. Hopefully, the move to PC will help Deadly Premonition 2: A Blessing in Disguise avoid the performance issues it had when it released on Switch and will let fans of the first game that do now own a Switch finally be able to play the long-awaited sequel. Both games were directed by Hidetaka "SWERY" Suehiro, who has built a rather large stable of devoted fans that follow his games, despite his titles not always being financial successes.

The announcement, however, seems to have been met with lukewarm reactions by the series' fans. Partially due to skepticism both from the sequel's performance on Switch as well as many fans expressing disappointment in the sequel. Concerns are also being raised because the PC port of the first Deadly Premonition still suffers from poor performance and a multitude of bugs despite being years old. However, this has not stopped many members of the community from expressing their excitement for the game's arrival on PC, especially since Deadly Premonition 2: A Blessing in Disguise has been improved so much on the Switch.

Regardless of whether or not Deadly Premonition 2: A Blessing in Disguise is a worthy successor of the quirky cult classic original, games being available to more players is always a good thing, and the game's jump to PC will allow a lot more players to experience the game and make up their minds on it themselves. The original Deadly Premonition got plenty of negative reviews at release and still built a very devoted following for itself, and it would make sense if the same was to happen for the sequel. Even if the fans that love Deadly Premonition 2: A Blessing in Disguise aren't all the same ones that love the original Deadly Premonition.

Deadly Premonition 2: A Blessing in Disguise is available now on Switch with a PC port expected to release late this year.
