Final Fantasy 14 game director Naoki Yoshida recently gave fans of his work a glimpse inside his personal life as he streamed himself baking cookies, drinking wine, and playing games for several hours. Yoshida also gave viewers a tour of the Free Company's housing before wearing a Craftsman's Aprons that matched his in-game avatar.
Yoshida recently took to NGC's official Twitch channel to show the world his favorite cookie recipe, which has since been translated by Twitter user Aitaikimochi. He performed live while drinking a 2018 Napa Valley red wine, which according to Yoshida goes very well with his cookies.

Yoshida took an hour to make his coffee cookies while interacting with his community, donning an apron that matched his Final Fantasy 14 lalafell black mage. The game director spent over seven hours streaming in total, including some FF14 Unreal Titan gameplay and a Q&A to wrap things up. While Yoshida and his Free Company wiped on Unreal Titan a few times, they managed to prevail in the end thanks to dedication.
The developer's personality really shined through in his livestream, showing his great sense of humor and humble nature. The Final Fantasy 14 game director has clearly played a lot of the MMO, but fans got an idea of how experienced he is in the kitchen too. While baking his coffee cookies, and drinking his wine, Yoshida somehow managed to get an entire block of butter stuck in his whisk, and he later made little smiley faces out of chocolate chips. While the entire livestream was in Japanese, many fans who didn't understand the language still appreciated the stream due to Yoshida's personality, the baking, and the intense Final Fantasy 14 gameplay.
With Yoshida and his friends having countless laughs during the recent livestream, it shows what a positive environment the Final Fantasy 14 game director seems to appreciate on a daily basis. It also seems fair to say that he likes to unwind after a long day of work. While he is clearly skilled in the game, it was also refreshing to see his group encounter problems that will feel familiar to fans of the MMO. The Final Fantasy 14 gameplay was enough to be entertaining on its own, but Yoshida's variety of content showed the game director's personality beyond the project he's worked so hard on - one which will soon be receiving a beta test on PS5.
Final Fantasy 14 is available now for PC and PS4. A PS5 version is set to release later this year.
