Commenting on fan dismay after he wasn't invited to Jimmy Fallon's Among Us stream, DisguisedToast believes the reasoning was 'just business.'

Though many fans were concerned why DisguisedToast didn't appear on Jimmy Fallon's Among Us stream, he seems unbothered by the decision, citing it as "just business."

Recently, Jimmy Fallon brought Stranger Things actors Gaten Matarazzo and Noah Schnapp, and streamers Corpse, Valkyrae, and Sykkuno together to play Among Us on his show. Later on, Victoria Tran, the Among Us community director, was confirmed as the final player. The Roots' Questlove, Tariq Trotter, and Kirk Douglas also appeared to play alongside the gamers. It aired on Tuesday on the host's Twitch channel, but a big name in the Among Us sphere missing from the Stream was DisguisedToast, especially after he previously appeared in Congress Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's Among Us stream prior to the United States presidential election.

But DisguisedToast isn't surprised by the fact that he was left out. The Facebook Gaming streamer explains that, from a marketing perspective, his brand doesn't have as big of a draw as his peers' do, and this isn't the first time this has happened. He explains during a stream that, after his surge in popularity around the AOC stream last year, his viewership has plateaued and he doesn't see the same attention as Valkyrae and Corpse do.

What Toast is saying about branding is certainly true to some degree. While he's a talented streamer nonetheless, Valkyrae became the fastest-growing female streamer in 2020, and just recently, became a co-owner of the esports organization 100 Thieves. In light of this, having her on Jimmy Fallon's show likely turned many heads.

Additionally, Corpse Husband has a massive online following, especially with teen audiences thanks to his success on TikTok and as a musical artist. While that doesn't mean that he's a "better" streamer than DisguisedToast in any way, Toast feels that, from a business perspective, it's wiser to bring those with hoards of fans onto Jimmy Fallon's show. "There's no reason why I stand out," he said, negating that the lack of invitation could be due to him being an Asian content creator.

"I'm not as big as others anymore," DisguisedToast explains simply. To the Facebook streamer, it boils down to the amount of impact he has as a content creator. While Twitch streamers like Valkyrae and Pokimane have been an inspiration for women in gaming, Toast's brand doesn't have that same kind of reach. He feels that he doesn't have anything cool or unique compared to those that were invited, but his fans would beg to differ. Commenters say, because of Toast's efforts, viewers see more diverse content and he helped viewers discover streamers like Sykkuno through his well-crafted lobbies in Among Us.

Among Us is out now for Mobile, PC, and Switch, and is coming to Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S in 2021.
