Outriders players can collect journal entries to up their Accolade level and learn more about the game's lore, and several are in the First City.

There is plenty to do in Outriders, but those players wanting to collect all 339 journal pages have their work cut out for them. Rather than try and tackle this monumental task all at once, it is best to break things down into areas, grabbing journal entries along the way as players progress through the game. While most areas have 10 or 11 journal entries to be found at most, the First City area has a staggering 17 journal entries (not including automatic journal entries that don't require the player to pick anything up). This makes it an ideal place to start for players wanting to boost their Accolade levels.

Journal entries provide a deeper understanding of the lore of Outriders. Some of them delve into what life was like on Enoch before the first Anomaly storm, and other discuss more current events like the Insurgents and the war raging between them and the ECA. Interested players can read through all 339 pages to get a full understanding of the world of Enoch, and even those that aren't in it for the lore have something to gain by finding them. Collecting journals completes Accolades, increasing the player's Accolade level and granting them unique cosmetics and emotes.

The first journal in the First City is easy to find, and also happens to be right near the beginning. After loading into the area, head up the hill towards the sign that reads "Exile Territory." Make a left turn to find these notes on a body on the ground.

The second journal is a little trickier to find. Head up the anomaly storm ridden hill to the area called Anomaly Hilltop. Towards the end of this area, there's a dead body next to some notes nested between two concrete barricades.

Continue on from Anomaly Hilltop and head over to the Gallows area. On the way there, players will notice a dead body with some notes on it next to an alleyway. Collect the notes and then head down the alleyway for a chest and some loot.

In the main Gallows area, players should expect a fight if they haven't cleared it out yet. While standing atop the gallows, look forward to see a concrete building in the center of the area. Inside here in the corner there is a dead body with some notes on it detailing the history of the Outriders.

After finding this journal entry in the Gallows, continue onward and head to the Radio Tower area. On the way, make a left turn before the large building and follow this path. There should be a journal entry on the dead body found right next to the chain link fence.

Head to the Hangman's Tree either by warping with a beacon flag or simply taking the cable car down. Head over to the large tree and find a note on a dead body underneath it.

Continue following the main path to reach the Container Plaza. There are two journals to be found in this area, but the first is located on a dead body inside of a large shipping crate. To find it, approach the large, circular building and look just to the left.

After getting the journal in the shipping crate, continue heading left past it to find a structure. Follow along through it and the corridors should lead players to this journal.

Next, players are headed to the Main Street area (where they first fought an Alpha Perforo) to find three journals, all of which are relatively easy to locate. For the first one, approach the bridge and make a right turn. In the corner there is a journal belonging to one Jane Colm.

Head back towards the gate to find a set of stairs leading up the building on the right side. Follow these steps up to reach a balcony with the note at the very top overlooking the main bridge.

Finally, face the gate and go left this time. Next to the wall is yet another note for players to add to their collections. The last five notes are all part of side quests in this area, so players will need to complete the main quest and then talk with Zaheedi to start the "Endless Dark" side quest and Alfred McKellen to start "No Place Like Home"

The first side quest journal is easy to find but hard to reach. Players will need to run through the entirety of the "No Place Like Home" sidequest, and this includes a boss fight with some pretty tough insurgents. At the end of the quest, enter the old man's house to find a note lying on the ground.

Next, speak to Zaheedi to start the "Endless Dark" sidequest. Follow the quest marker in the Main Street to enter a building and find this note.

In the same room, head into the corner to find another note called Cryopods. These two are particularly easy to find because the quest will show them both with a blue objective marker, and they are also required in order to progress in the sidequest.

Enter the Boglands area and fight through all the enemies until reaching the large cryo chamber building. Instead of going in right away, make a left turn to find a pile of notes called Mass Awakening.

Like before, this note is also part of the sidequest and therefore impossible to miss. Still, it might confuse some players as it won't show up in the cryo chamber building until after they examine the body of Skarstedt. At this point, walk around the central pillar to find the notes sitting next to some cryo pods. This is the last Journal Entry players can find in the First City, so the next stop is finding all Journal Entries in Eagle Peaks.
