Pokemon's fourth generation introduced many new evolutions to existing Pokemon that remain popular for players even in Pokemon Sword and Shield. One of these Pokemon is Froslass, a dual Ice and Ghost-type Pokemon that is one of Snorunt's possible evolutions.
Froslass can be found in the wild in Pokemon Sword and Shield as well as be evolved from Snorunt. Whichever players decide to do it up to preference, as both methods will result in the same Pokemon.

If players choose go the evolution route, they should note that only female Snorunt have the ability to evolve into Froslass. In addition to this, players will also need a Dawn Stone in order to evolve their Snorunt. Dawn Stones can be found once in Giant's Cap, but can be obtained multiple times via the Digging Duo.
When looking for Snorunt, players can find them in multiple locations. They can appear as visible encounters on Route 8, West Lake Axewell, East Lake Axewell, North Lake Miloch, Giant's Seat, and Hammerlocke Hills. Snorunt can also appear as a random tall grass encounter at Rolling Fields, Dappled Grove, West Lake Axewell, East Lake Axewell, Watchtower Ruins, North Lake Miloch, South Lake Miloch, Giant's Cap, and Hammerlocke Hills.
Players can also encounter Snorunt as a Pokemon raid boss. The locations where players can challenge it are: Dusty Bowl (den located between two large rocks and sitting on grass), Giant's Cap (den located near the rocky area next to the water), Giant's Seat (southern-most den in Pokemon Shield only), Hammerlocke Hills (western-most den), and Stony Wilderness (western-most den of the triangle den formation).
If players own the Crown Tundra DLC expansion, they can also find Snorunt in these new locations. Snorunt can spawn as a visible encounter at Giant's Bed, Snowslide Slope, Tunnel to the Top, and Giant's Foot.
For players not wanting to go through the evolution process with Snorunt, Froslass can be encountered as a raid boss in both the main Galar region and the Crown Tundra. These raid locations are Giant's Cap and Hammerlocke Hills with the same den locations as Snorunt. In the Crown Tundra, Froslass can appear on Dynamax Adventures in the Max Lair.
Froslass additionally appears outside of raids as a wandering Pokemon in various locations around the Crown Tundra. These locations are the Slippery Slope, Giant's Bed, Old Cemetery, Snowslide Slope, and Tunnel to the Top. Finding one this way will have it be at a higher level then the other Pokemon in the surrounding area.
Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield are now available exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
