Pokemon GO has a brand new ticketed event that is running from Saturday, May 29th at 12:00 AM to Sunday, May 30th at 11:59 PM in players' local times. This event is known as the Verizon Special Weekend for players in the United States, the 7-Eleven Mexico Special Weekend in Mexico, and the Yoshinoya Special Weekend in Japan.
For those who have gotten a ticket through the event's sponsor in Pokemon GO, there are multiple special increased incense Pokemon spawns as well as event-exclusive timed research tasks. Players will only have the event's duration in their local times to complete these tasks and receive their rewards.

There is a total of four steps to this series of timed research tasks with three tasks each. However, the fourth and final step's tasks are just made up of claiming rewards as a way to signify the completion of this event.
Even though this event has different sponsors depending on where players are located, the tasks and rewards remain the same throughout the United States of America, Mexico, and Japan. The only difference is in which letter of Unown players can encounter while using incense in the event's duration.
The first step of the Special Weekend timed research tasks contains the following:
Transfer ten Pokemon - 2,000 XP
Catch fifteen Pokemon - Eevee encounter
Give your buddy three treats - Incense
After completing this step, players will be rewarded with a Lucky Egg, 1,000 Stardust, and an encounter with Deino. With Lucky Eggs and Incense being especially valuable items both inside and outside events it is incredibly worth players pursuing this task series just from the first task alone.
Up next is the second step which requires players to:
Make ten Nice Throws - 2,000 XP
Catch three Pokemon - Eevee encounter
Use five Berries to help catch Pokemon - Ten Swirlix Candies
Once these tasks are all done, players will get another Incense, 1,000 more Stardust, and an encounter with Swirlix. The candies earned from the last task can go toward helping Swirlix evolve or help strengthen it or its evolution, Slurpuff.
The third step is the last to contain actual tasks to complete. These tasks are:
Make five Great Curveball Throws - 2,000 XP
Catch fifteen Pokemon - Eevee encounter
Use an Incense - Ten Spritzee Candies
While the Curveball task might cause some players trouble, completing this task will earn players a Star Piece, 1,000 Stardust, and an encounter with Spritzee. From this point, players will be able to just claim the rest of the rewards given from the fourth step. These rewards are 8,000 XP, 1,000 Stardust, and another encounter with Deino.
