Today's Pokemon Direct is chock full of exciting announcements for fans, one of which is a new look at features from the upcoming New Pokemon Snap.

New Pokemon Snap showed off a fresh look at some of the mechanics that will be featured in the upcoming game as part of today's Pokemon Presents. The Pokemon presentation was announced yesterday, and fans were eager to see new projects revealed in the Pokemon universe. Today's event did not disappoint, with new games announced for this year and the next as well as more updates on specific features in New Pokemon Snap.

The presentation video for New Pokemon Snap takes players into the Lental region, where they will be riding around in a device called a Neo 1. Players will have team members to assist them on their journey as they search out Pokemon to snap pictures of. As trainers move through the Lental region they will spot plenty of Pokemon, but it may not always be the perfect moment to take a picture. Trainers will have to make use of helpful tools in their arsenal, like Fluffruit and songs, to get Pokemon into the perfect poses. If trainers can catch Pokemon in a rare pose, they will receive more stars on their photos.

The New Pokemon Snap portion of today's presentation also details how to create the best photos of fan-favorite Pokemon. Once trainers have plenty of photos, they can edit them in the game with different tools. A picture of a cute Bulbasaur might look better with some stickers attached to it, and a good frame might help capture the mood of a picture featuring a shy Chinchou. Once trainers feel like they have the perfect picture, they can upload those pictures online to show off to friends. The best photos from New Pokemon Snap might become featured online and get even more attention.

Some mysterious Illumina Pokemon were also shown again in today's video. These seem to be regular Pokemon that glow, possibly as a result of eating glowing vegetation in one of Lental's forests. The Pokemon Meganium may have something to do with these Illumina Pokemon, but that wasn't confirmed in today's video. Fans might also be surprised to see the mythical Pokemon, Celebi, who posed for a picture and seems to be confirmed for the New Pokemon Snap game.

Of course, New Pokemon Snap was not the only game featured in today's presentation. Some of the biggest announcements included confirmation of the Diamond and Pearl remakes (Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl) and a brand new Pokemon game called Pokemon Legends: Arceus. There's a whole lot more to celebrate as Pokemon Day draws near.
