It's the time of the year, folks, it's time to celebrate yet another Overwatch anniversary! The latest Overwatch Anniversary event allows players to dive back into fan-favorite events from the past, including Halloween Terror, Winter Wonderland, and more. The limited-time festivities also bring a few new Legendary and Epic skins for our heroes to don. Here's what you need to know!
The latest Overwatch Anniversary event kicks off on May 18, today, and will run until May 28. Five years of heroes, five years of piecing together a deeper lore than what meets the eye, and five years of Zarya getting shafted out of cool skins. Kidding on that last part. Mostly.

The 80’s Action Heroes event in Call of Duty begins soon on May 20. Yes, this means you can get skins for Die Hard’s John McClane and Rambo. These are completely new operators and not just skins for existing ones. Yes, this also means you can do battle at Nakatomi Plaza in Warzone. Maybe if you set it up just right, you can replicate some of those epic Die Hard moments. Verdansk and Warzone are in for some big shake ups!
Click here to watch embedded mediaNakatomi Plaza features five floors of playable space and is the tallest building in Warzone, and is expected to appear in Verdansk for a limited time only. Like the major motion picture, Nakatomi Plaza features an elaborate and difficult to crack vault - perhaps you might be able to get in and collect the loot!
While it’s hard to compete with an awesome new structure like Nakatomi Plaza, the Rambo brand is bringing Survival Camp locations into Verdansk as well, channeling Rambo: First Blood Part II. There are ten of these camps located across the map, featuring various rewards and a Dog Tag collection task that might have some interesting finds associated with it…
In addition to these two themed additions to Verdansk, the CIA has established an outpost in one of the aircraft hangars.
So these changes are cool and all, but there’s also a limited-time mode known as Power Grab that’s designed to play up the action hero. The starting circle is much smaller, and there’s no Gulag to help you out if you fall. Collecting Dog Tags in this mode confers rewards and also lets you score revives for your squadmates. If all this wasn’t enough, there’s also a combat bow (killstreak) and a ballistic knife heading to Warzone for the event as well.
While the Warzone changes may be the most profound, content is coming to Black Ops Cold War as well, with two new multiplayer maps arriving for the event. The 6v6 Standoff map from Black Ops II is here for 6v6 action. The larger Duga is also here after spending some time as an Outbreak locale. Get ready for new variants of game modes that are already hot, like “Die Hardpoint” instead of Hardpoint and “Rambo’s Gun Game” instead of the traditional version.
There are many other changes, tweaks, and features arriving in Call of Duty as part of the rollout, including Outbreak. Check out full details on the 80’s Action Heroes event here.

The original Mass Effect trilogy, let's be honest, had a ton of bugs, some pacing issues, and a few other odds and ends that could have used a little tweaking. Luckily, the Mass Effect Legendary Edition does said tweaking, including fixing an assumed mistake with a particular NPC that was quite literally the wrong race. Hear me out.
For those that played the first game, you may remember an NPC named Elanos Haliat. In the original trilogy, this character was a human, which made no sense given the context surrounding his character. According to the vanilla first game, Haliat is a pirate and a renowned leader within the Terminus system, an area outside of the law. When players met him, it was revealed that he spearheaded the invasion on Elysium against humans (those that opted into the War Hero profile for Shepard will be familiar with this).
Since Elysium is a human colony, it didn't quite add up that he would lead an attack on this particular area. Not unheard of, Omega proves that there is no race loyalty if enough credits are on the line, but the way that character interaction went down just made him being a human feel odd. It's been long since theorized that maybe this was a glitch of some kind. Putting aside that a human attacking a human colony feels a bit icky, the timeline just didn't match up either. Coming off of the First Contact War where Turians and humans went head-to-head, it's hard to imagine alien races rallying behind a human, even if the cause is to inflict harm on other humans.
Click here to watch embedded mediaStill don't believe me that the original was a bit weird with this side quest? His name alone is a direct reference to Turian tech, why would that be? Thankfully, that's been fixed and the world makes sense once more because the Mass Effect Legendary Edition has changed how Haliat looks, making him a Turian - not human - and making that entire quest much more rational.
That's not the only thing that's been fixed or changed, especially in a good way. We'll have a more comprehensive list of detailed changes here soon, but overall the tweaks have made a massive impact. These positive changes can especially be felt in the first game, but the second and third has magic as well to offer regarding remaster tweaks.
