Our Story Thus Far...
This team has not been together for very long, in fact in April we will have our one-year anniversary on Discord. We have overcome many challenges and Milestones during our adventure here, from creating automated services to working closely with a very thriving and growing community on many different levels.
In the spring of 2020 shortly after we had started to build our Discord presence, COVID-19 hit the World by storm. We started to notice a change in the nature of the community. One that was affecting the emotions and the daily lives of everybody that was inside of our server. To help better serve our community we decided to launch additional services such as a counseling service where anybody in the community would be able to come and reach out to an unbiased third-party and talk about any issue that may be bothering them. We also created a tutoring service for the students that were stuck at home due to the COVID-19 pandemic and who are now being forced to be homeschooled through online resources and/or their parents. We realized that the resources at home are different and even further limited than the resources are at school for these students. While setting up different interpersonal services for our community we had also launched several fundraisers to help other people outside of our community. 100% of the proceeds from these fundraiser events were donated to different charities, and the overhead they covered was for all the software we pay for to run the Discord server as well as the expansion of hardware which powers our services to this community.
Every time we hosted a fundraiser, we made sure to post updates to the community inside of our Discord server so everybody could see where the crowdfunded sources were going. Everybody that helped contribute finances to our goals we are giving additional perks inside of the server, as a thank you for helping us achieve completion of the fundraisers themselves. Proof of every fundraiser donation has also been posted on the server and is also posted in a reserved section of this website. In the past year we have strived to build a community of gamers that reach out beyond the video games and have a positive impact on everybody that we interact with. Moving forward, the future is uncertain. It is impossible to predict whether we will be around forever and our hope is that the impact that we do have on the lives that we have touched is a lasting impact, and that they take the positivity that we have provided them and pay it forward to somebody else in need.
We pride ourselves on being a family-friendly Discord server. We made sure that the proper filters and restrictions are in place so that nothing lewd, malicious, or dangerous exists in our server, in the public space that could put anyone at harm. Discord servers are generally geared toward gamers, our goal was not exactly just the video games but to serve the community. Which means playing video games, hanging out with them, showing them that we are their peers as well as someone that they could turn to that will not judge them for thinking differently, or being different, and help them come to realize that being different is okay. Not everybody in your immediate Social Circle will fully understand or come to realize that just because you think differently, are different, dress differently, act differently, does not mean that you're not normal. It just means that you are unique. You were created to be who you are today, and nobody should ever try and change that.
We have also been working on weekly twitch streams, where we try to play games that incorporate multiple other people. The variety of games that we play are generally selected by the community that we serve. We realize most twitch streamers have those one-off specific types of games that they use, and that they stream with, but we would like to provide a variety so we can change it up every week and have something different to provide the community. Aside from streaming to Twitch we continue to maintain a Facebook group for the more casual gamer. We also have a Twitter, and YouTube channel, that is starting to gain more visibility and popularity as time progresses. Soon we wish to do more with the YouTube channel as far as providing content to our viewers with possible additional comedic skits / animations. We recently just rebuilt our website from a stale and static page into something that is more robust and complete as far as information toward the services that we do provide and the games that we play.
Our primary goal here is not to become famous by social media for streaming video games or being a household name. Our goal instead is to have a positive impact on people, help raise funds for Charities and try to make a difference in the world in an area where people are usually ignored and forgotten. It does not apply to everybody, it applies to the little guy that goes to the internet to escape their own reality to hide from the truth of their daily lives. This is for the person that has nobody close by, that does not know who to turn to for help or to talk about issues that they may have. What we do is for you in hopes that you may feel empowered enough to reach out to us to point you in the right direction. As technology changes and video games are released we will strive to continue to provide additional services to the community to either help augment the games that we play in, a beneficial way or help you get to a point where you can unlock something completely new to the way you play the games that you never had the ability to on your own. We hope that each one of you finds enjoyment in the services that we provide and find comfort in our community and appreciates what we have built and provide to you unconditionally.
