There is a new top-tier DPS combo in Destiny 2, and players who want to take advantage of it will need to get their hands on the Crown Splitter.

The Crown Splitter in Destiny 2 is a class-specific sword that is currently a hot commodity. This weapon, which can only be wielded by the Titan class, can take advantage of a combination of mods and will output more damage than The Lament Exotic Sword. This means it is currently capable of doing the highest damage in the game, making it very appealing to players. This will likely only last until the end of the Season of the Splicer, as it is reliant on specific mods.

To get the Crown Splitter, players will need to get lucky, as it is a random drop. Thankfully, it has multiple potential sources, unlike some of the other top-tier weapons in Destiny 2, which may only have a single source. The Crown Splitter can drop from Legendary Engrams that are earned as random world loot or by earning faction packages from Tower vendors such as Shaxx or Zavala.

Banshee-44, the gunsmith who sells mods such as Powerful Friends, has been cited by many Guardians as a great source for the Crown Splitter, so spending some time handing in weapon parts to this helpful Exo is another great way to get the Crown Splitter. Finally, players who get enough kills with swords during the Season of the Splicer will be able to focus Umbral Engrams to produce swords, which can then drop the Crown Splitter.

The Prismatic Recaster that is used to focus Umbral Engrams can be found in the H.E.L.M and will give players the best chance of getting all the class-specific swords, including Crown Splitter. Once players have their hands on the Crown Splitter, they will need to get and use a specific combination of mods to take advantage of the incredible damage it can cause.

Energy Accelerant is the most important piece of the puzzle. Energy Accelerant is a seasonal mod that can be obtained from the Season of the Splicer artifact, the Paradrome Cube. The mod will cause Dragonfly, Chain Reaction, and Firefly explosions to deal more damage. This will increase the damage of heavy attacks performed with the Crown Splitter.

Players can also use the Breach and Clear mod from the Paradome Cube to apply a debuff to enemies that will cause them to take more damage, then attack them with the Crown Splitter to further increase damage. Finally, the aforementioned Banshee-44 in the Tower can occasionally sell a mod called Lucent Blade, increasing the charge rate for your sword and increasing damage when you are equipped to take advantage of Destiny 2's charged with light mechanic.

The result of this combination of mods with the Crown Splitter is a substantial increase in damage over just using the Crown Splitter alone and will allow players to melt just about any enemy in the game with ease.

Destiny 2 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
