Destiny 2's Crown Splitter is a Titan-exclusive sword that has rapidly become one of the best weapons if combined with Energy Accelerant.

Destiny 2's Season of the Splicer saw yet another shift in the game's meta thanks to several factors contributing to this ever-changing MMO from Bungie, including the all-new seasonal mods. Each Season of Destiny 2 brings a new Artifact with mods unique to that Season or returning from previous ones, and in this case, there are several tools to make Guardians even more powerful. One of the most popular ones at the moment is Energy Accelerant, which increases the damage from explosions caused by different perks or weapon-specific abilities, including the Crown Splitter.

The Crown Splitter is a class-exclusive sword for the Titans, and it has enjoyed a peak in popularity and use for a while now, precisely because of the massive damage from heavy attacks when combined with Energy Accelerant. Destiny 2 gamers are either switching to Titans just to try it, or are already playing one as their main, meaning many are looking for the best rolls to maximize damage output and the efficiency. While there are multiple great combinations of perks on this sword, a specific set of perks makes it just too strong not to use, be it in solo, PvE, PvP, Raids, and more.

In Destiny 2, the best sword to this day was always The Lament, an Exotic weapon capable of dealing tons of damage. Now, the Crown Splitter can easily best it in terms of DPS if paired with a few good debuffs, like that from Breach and Clear for example. This weapon can be obtained as a random world drop, from Banshee-44's legendary engrams (as well as other characters', with Banshee being the best choice), and also from Umbral Engrams focused via the Prismatic Recaster to produce swords, specifically.

Energy Accelerant, on the other hand, can be obtained from the last column of the seasonal Artifact, called Paradrome Cube. It can be slotted at the cost of two Energy on the class-specific item of each Guardian, meaning Bonds, Cloaks, and Marks. It's worth noting that this mod cannot be used in conjunction with Breach and Clear, and that's because it too is a mod available only for class-specific items, but it comes with a cost of 9 Energy, bringing the total over the maximum allowed in Destiny 2.

The Crown Splitter can have different rolls for each column, starting with the first, which includes perks exclusively related to swords. It can come with:

  • Jagged Edge, which increases Impact by 10 and reduces Ammo Capacity by 20
  • Hungry Edge, increasing the sword's Ammo Capacity by 20
  • Enduring Blade, reducing Impact by five and increasing Ammo Capacity by 35
  • Tempered Edge, which increases Impact by three and Ammo Capacity by 10
  • Honed Edge, which increases the weapon's Impact by five

The second column is guaranteed to have Heavy Guard, while the third includes the following perks:

  • Flash Counter, which disorients and weakens targets under specific conditions
  • Tireless Blade, granting sword ammo every other powered sword kill
  • Relentless Strikes, granting sword ammo whenever three light attacks hit
  • Thresh, generating Super energy for each kill with this weapon

The last column includes these rolls, instead:

  • Surrounded, which grants extra damage when near three or more enemies
  • Counterattack, which makes blocking after guarding grant bonus damage
  • Vorpal Weapon, increasing damage against bosses, vehicles, and Guardians using their Super
  • Whirlwind Blade, allowing rapid strikes to increase the sword's damage

The best perks from the first column are Jagged Edge and Honed Edge, as they are the ones with the biggest increase to Impact, meaning more damage dealt. The best one from the second column is Thresh, as Super energy is always very valuable. The third column comes with two good rolls for the Crown Splitter in the form of Surrounded and Vorpal Weapon, with the former being situational and the latter being extremely potent against bosses, and thus the optimal one among the two.

Lastly, the best Masterwork roll for this weapon is of course Impact, as it wants the most damage it can get. This combination will easily allow Guardians to destroy their enemies, while also having very high DPS numbers on bosses, even Raid bosses, potentially out-damaging the Deathbringer.

Destiny 2 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
