From the days of unplugging ethernet cables to glitch Crota in Destiny 1 to using matchmaking exploits to host 12-man raids in Destiny 2: Beyond Light, the Destiny franchise is no stranger to bugs or glitches. While Bungie does its best to try and patch exploits and various bugs as quickly as it can, it is currently facing multiple issues in Destiny 2: Beyond Light.
Bungie is currently working on a fix for issues affecting the Trials of Osiris game mode as well as an exploit that allows for 12-man Fireteams in raid encounters. On top of these current issues in the game, Guardians have discovered another glitch in the Deep Stone Crypt Raid. This new glitch allows guardians to zero-phase Taniks, instantly pushing Taniks to the final stand phase, bypassing the rest of the encounter.

The zero-phase glitch works by throwing a Nova-Bomb at the pile of rubble that Taniks starts under and dying before the Nova-Bomb hits. If the guardian who cast the Nova-Bomb is dead when it hits the rubble, it will not start the encounter, and Taniks will take damage before the encounter starts. This is similar to previous glitches that allowed Guardians to damage Zulmak in the Pit of Heresy using a the Witherhoard Exotic Grenade Launcher.
One Guardian has taken the time to calculate that it takes about 45 Nova-Bombs to kill Taniks before the encounter starts. While this can be done solo, it would take quite a long time to accomplish. Guardians in a Fireteam of six can instead throw 7-8 Nova-Bombs each to push Taniks to his final stand before the encounter starts, 4 if Guardians are already using the 12-man Fireteam exploit.
This glitch can also be done using the Witherhoard Exotic Grenade Launcher, or other means of creating lingering damage over time that will persist after the Guardian dies. Nova-Bomb seems to be the fastest way to do this glitch, but coordinated Fireteams may be able to finish the encounter normally in the same amount of time.
Bungie has not yet said anything about this zero-phase glitch, and it is currently busy working to fix other exploits and bugs in Destiny 2: Beyond Light, so when it will get fixed is unclear as of now. This could mean this glitch may not be amended until after more pressing issues are solved, such as the issues causing Trials of Osiris to be cancelled for the second weekend in a row or the exploit that allows for 12-man Fireteams.
Destiny 2: Beyond Light is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
