A Destiny 2 artist shares an incredible reimagining of The Little Mermaid's Ariel as one of Destiny 2's Guardians, complete with a unique Ghost.

Another artistic Destiny 2 fan has outdone themselves by creating a piece of fan art that mashes the popular shooter with another property, in this case one owned by Disney. This latest mash-up shows an interesting take one what Ariel from The Little Mermaid might look like if she donned some of Destiny's Guardian gear and joined in the fight for the Traveler.

The piece itself was designed by artist @KevinRages, who has drawn a good amount of Destiny 2 related fan art in the past in a couple of different styles. However, the idea for this particular reimagining of Ariel did come from another fan who commissioned the artist to place the popular Disney character into the spacefaring adventure.

In the new piece of fan art, the two responsible for the design landed on giving Ariel Destiny 2's Hunter class, with a bow as her primary weapon and a trident on her back. From how its presented, the trident appears to be a unique exotic sword to better connect the character's original movie into the in-game world. On top of the weapons, the artist also included a specially designed Ghost in the form of Ariel's friend Flounder, whose blue fin looks like a mohawk on top of the floating companion.

The outfit itself appears to be inspired by the Sovereign armor set for Hunters, though this depiction does have a unique shader based on Ariel's color scheme from the original movie. One or two other secrets from the film snuck their way into the design as well, hidden as some extra little details on the reimagined armor for eagle-eyed fans. It certainly does beg the question of what some of the other characters from the Disney Renaissance might look if they geared up in some of Destiny 2's flashiest armor and joined the fight for the light.

There never seems to be a limit to what new ways fans will continue to reinterpret Destiny 2, especially when opening the door to mashing the game up with other popular franchises. However, as long as there are fan artists looking to make more pieces like this Ariel crossover, there are definitely more happy to see the community spread their appreciation for the game. Along with new reasons to jump onto Destiny 2 and grab powerful gear, players have a lot to enjoy from the content created in and around the game by both the developer and other fans.

Destiny 2 is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
