Fortnite fans can find the location of the crashed plane's black box, which they must visit for a new weekly challenge, in this guide.

One of Fortnite's Season 5 Week 9 challenges instructs players to find the crashed plane's black box, and it is perhaps one of the most difficult of the newly-added tasks. Indeed, fans may need to scour the map quite thoroughly before they find the requisite object, and that can prove to be quite a time-consuming endeavor. That said, fans that reference this guide can completely circumvent this search, as it will provide the precise location of the black box in Fortnite.

To put things simply, the crashed plane's black box can be found on the landmass at the southeast corner of Coral Castle, a named location that is situated in the northwest quadrant of Fortnite's map. More specifically, players should look for the black box near the airplane that has crashed on this landmass, and the object of interest has the appearance of a reel-to-reel tape recorder. To offer further clarity, a map that highlights the position of the black box can be found below.

Once a player has located the relevant tape recorder, all that is left to do is interact with it using the input that appears onscreen. Doing this will cause the find the crashed plane's black box challenge to be immediately marked as complete, and fans will earn 20,000 XP for their efforts. From there, players can move on to some of the other new weekly challenges, and indeed there are several that can be completed not far from Coral Castle.

For instance, there is currently a challenge that asks players to find a Hidden Bunker in Fortnite, and one of these structures is located on an island slightly northeast of the black box. To reach this island, players must first pass by Stealthy Stronghold, and they should look for a small elevated house upon arrival at the islet. They should then break through the wooden slats that are just below this house in order to access the bunker that is hidden underneath.

There is also a challenge that centers around dealing damage while in water, and there is certainly no shortage of that substance near Coral Castle. While it is not requisite that players attempt to overlap all of these challenges, it is a good way to earn some very efficient XP. This is something that fans that are working on Fortnite's Season 5 Battle Pass will undoubtedly be interested in doing, as it will help them reach the top tiers more quickly.

Fortnite is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
