On the surface, Epic Games' hit battle royale Fortnite seems simple enough. Players drop into a map and compete in a 100-person match until there is only one player left standing. There are a variety of unique POI's to visit, weapons to use, and characters to play as. However, many players are beginning to learn that there may be much more going on behind the scenes in Fortnite.
Despite the game's light-hearted tone and art style, Epic Games has begun to slowly reveal the lore surrounding the world of Fortnite. Back in Chapter 1 Season 3, the game held an event that saw a meteor introduce fans to a character known only as The Visitor. Players would later learn that The Visitor is part of a group of characters known as The Seven, which includes The Scientist and The Paradigm, and while the intentions of this group have been unknown, fans have gotten "The Seven" trending on Twitter in light of the upcoming Fortnite season.

Earlier this week, Epic Games announced that Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 5 would come to an end on March 16, effectively kicking off Season 6 with a special Zero Crisis Finale event. As part of the event, players will experience the "conclusion of Agent Jones' mission," which Fortnite has released multiple teasers for in the past few days. In the teasers, Agent Jones makes multiple mentions of The Seven, kicking off a flurry of excitement and speculation by fans on Twitter.
Players first saw Agent Jones appear in Chapter 2 Season 2's The Device event, which showed the character working as part of an organization to "stabilize" something. Drawing conclusions from a variety of teasers and hints dropped by Epic Games, fans now know that Agent Jones is part of an organization known as the Imagined Order. With the launch trailer for Chapter 2 Season 5, fans learned that Agent Jones was told not to "attract the attention of The Seven" during a mission to gather the best hunters across all realities in order to stop anyone escaping from the Zero Point, which fans have theorized is what connects the Fortnite map to outside realities.
The Zero Point has now become unstable, and the official teasers released by the Fortnite Twitter account have revealed that Agent Jones is making last ditch efforts to stabilize the it as he now looks for information on The Seven. Fans have theorized that Agent Jones is looking for help from The Seven, who have previously tampered with the Zero Point in past Fortnite events.
While things aren't entirely clear, fans have theorized that The Seven are seven versions of the same individual, all from different realities. While some fans are divided as to whether Agent Jones or The Seven are the "good guys" in the overarching Fortnite storyline, it's clear that more will be revealed soon come Chapter 2 Season 6.
Fortnite is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
