Genshin Impact fans are just barely done celebrating the Lantern Rite Festival with Xiao, but developer miHoYo continues to blaze forward with brand new events and content. Apart from a new five-star character, Travelers are now also being treated to a small token of appreciation from the character, Bennett - but time is of the essence.
Travelers who log on to Genshin Impact on February 28 (or 29, presumably/when applicable), will find a message from the four-star character Bennett in their Inboxes. The brief note marks Bennett's unfortunate birth date, which is February 29, and includes several gifts for the player.

By now, most of the game's veteran players will have grown used to receiving free goodies on a character's birthday, but even still, few players check a character's birth date ahead of time. It's usually a nice surprise, instead. While some Genshin Impact character birthday gifts have only included healing items along with the character's Specialty Dish (something that is always included), Bennett's provides a valuable Character Ascension Material.
Though only one, Bennett's birthday message gifts players with an Everflame Seed. These four-star Ascension Materials are generally needed to upgrade Pyro characters, and can only be found in small amounts at a time, from powerful fiery foes like the Pyro Regisvine. Even one Everflame Seed would save a player from having to go through a tedious boss fight.
Aside from including a rare Character Ascension Material, Bennett's birthday message gives players some of his Specialty Dish, Teyvat Charred Egg. It may look quite burnt, but Bennett himself insists it's perfect for eating, as per his message to the player. His message also alludes to his complicated past; namely, growing up under the care of multiple "dads" of the Adventurers' Guild.
Having lost both of his parents as an infant, Bennett was discovered and cared for by an old member of the Adventurers' Guild. When that elder member died, other older Adventurers all stepped up to the plate and raised Bennett together. Now, Bennett affectionately refers to these men as "Dads." Apart from this lonely history, this character is known for being a swordsman who can heal his allies while damaging foes. Moreover, he's renowned for his unmatched bad luck.
Bad luck is so integral to Bennett that he was even born on a leap year, meaning his "true" birthday only rolls around every four years. Regardless of misfortunes though, this character is celebrated for his fiery optimism - Happy Birthday, Bennett!
Genshin Impact is available now on the App Store, Google Play, PC, and PS4, and is currently in development for the PS5 and Switch.
