Genshin Impact has been celebrating the arrival of spring in the Northern Hemisphere with its latest five-star character releases, Xiao and Hu Tao. The game's recent Version 1.3 update brought forth a series of exciting new weapons for Travelers to collect as well, which, like five-star characters, usually require Primogems to obtain.
Travelers can technically earn new characters and weapons in Genshin Impact without spending Primogems. However, players hoping to take advantage of the game's newest characters and strongest weapons will often have to rely on them, since "Wishes" from the game's Special Character Banner and Weapon Banner effectively require 160 Primogems each.

Thankfully, the game's developer miHoYo is known for providing promo codes more often than not, which at least helps soften the blow of 160 Primogems per Wish. While promo codes in Genshin Impact are distributed seemingly randomly, miHoYo seems to release them rather frequently, and always makes it a point to drop new ones during special livestreams and announcements. Some promo codes will be entirely new, but oftentimes, miHoYo has been known to simply "re-activate" a code, allowing players to claim it again.
Promo codes must be redeemed through miHoYo's website for Genshin Impact, but aside from registering an account and linking it to a particular in-game account, the process is rather straightforward. The active promo codes as of March 7, 2021, have not changed since February, but players who might not have claimed them yet can still snag these Primogems in time for four-star Rosaria's introduction. The codes are as follows:
- GENSHINGIFT - 50 Primogems, 3 Hero's Wit
- 153YUSAENH - 30 Primogems, 5 Adventurer's Experience*
- GSIMPTQ125 - 60 Primogems, 10,000 mora
- KTNSCQWW922M**
- PSNTC8FEQK4D**
- ET7ADQFF8KJR**
* This refers to the item "Adventurer's Experience," which resembles several red sheets of paper, and grants characters 5,000 Character EXP; not to be confused with Adventure EXP.
** These codes were released during the 1.4 Special Livestream and "expired" on March 6, 2021 - in the past, these Genshin Impact livestream codes have been re-activated shortly thereafter, so players are urged to keep an eye out.
Once on the official Genshin Impact website (not to be confused with the Official Fan Site dubbed HoYoLAB), players will find the "Redeem Code" tab near the top right of the page. Players will need to have registered a miHoYo account and linked it to their in-game character and account before redeeming codes, but otherwise, it's as simple as selecting the correct region and name from the drop-down menu.
After a code is successfully entered, players will receive a "Code successfully redeemed!" message on the website. If players have already claimed the code, the message will still display, but players will receive an in-game letter explaining that the code has already been redeemed. Otherwise, Travelers will find a message containing a bundle of rewards in their in-game Inboxes. Especially in light of the fact that Hu Tao is finally available, and rumors that characters like Venti and Klee may be returning soon, any extra Primogems should be eagerly welcomed.
Genshin Impact is available now on the App Store, Google Play, PC, and PS4, and is currently in development for PS5 and Switch.
