Genshin Impact players can find out where to find and strategies on how to beat the game's most challenging weekly-boss Tartaglia in this guide.

One of the most challenging fights that Genshin Impact players will experience outside of the Spiral Abyss is against Tartaglia. While Tartaglia may not appear as threatening as some of the other bosses players may have faced, Genshin Impact players should be well prepared before attempting to take on the head of the Fatui.

Unlike the Hypostasis and Regisvine bosses across Mondstadt and Liyue, Tartaglia is a weekly boss that players can only claim rewards from once per week. Additionally, players will only unlock the opportunity to face Tartaglia as a weekly boss after completing the Chapter 1 Archon Quest "A New Star Approaches."  After players complete the quest they can challenge Tartaglia at the "Enter the Golden House" Trounce Domain located in the South East of Liyue Harbor

Before attempting to face Tartaglia, players should make sure that their party has a dedicated healer on hand, and a main and support DPS whose elemental reactions complement each other. Ideally, a good composition would include a main pyro-DPS with electro support to create the overloaded elemental reaction.

Like the Lupus Boreas weekly boss fight, Targalia will swap between elemental attack types throughout the fight's three phases. During the first phase, Tartaglia's attacks will be entirely Hyro-based, while during the second, his attacks will be electro-based. In Tartaglia's final stage, his attacks will consist of a mix of hydro attacks from his first phase and electro attacks from his second phase. As a result, players struggling with Tartaglia's damage output should craft Desiccant Potions that increase Hydro resistance and Insulation Potions that increase Electro resistance.

As mentioned, during Tartaglia's first phase, the majority of his attacks will be ranged and hydro-based.  While this is arguably the easiest of the boss's three phases, due to his attack speed it can be difficult to find an opening to attack him. The best time to attack Tartaglia during this phase is after he has used his hydro wave shot ability or his basic six-hit arrow combo.

After Tartaglia uses either of these two moves, he will briefly pause allowing players the opportunity to deal a considerable portion of damage to his health bar. The most important thing to watch out for during this first phase is when Tartaglia quickly moves to the side and generates a large Hydro pool around him. When players see this, they should immediately move to the far edges of the battle area as Tartaglia will conjure a giant Hydro whale that easily one-hits most characters.

In Tartaglia's second phase, his attacks will switch from ranged hydro attacks to melee electro attacks. During this phase, Tartaglia's speed will increase considerably, and he will put significant pressure on the player as he teleports around the arena. The ideal time to damage Tartaglia during this phase is when his dual electro blades are not equipped.

While players don't have to worry about the hydro whale during Tartaglia's second phase, he has a devastating plunge ability that deals considerable damage. Players will know he is about to activate the ability when they see an electrical ring appear around their character. When players see this ring, they must immediately dash to avoid taking damage.

During Tartaglia's final phase his attacks will consist of electrical melee and ranged hydro abilities. While his third phase may appear the most threatening, it is considerably easier than the second phase due to his reduced speed. The ideal strategy during this phase is to bait Tartaglia into attacking at close range and then dash behind him to deal damage to his back.

Because of how long Tartaglia's attack animations are during this phase, players should have a couple of seconds to chip away at his health before having to adjust.  However, it is important to remain vigilant when attacking Tartaglia from behind as he will occasionally rotate instantaneously and attack the player.

Upon defeating Tartaglia, players will be rewarded with high-level Gladiator set artifacts and several highly coveted talent ascension materials.
