Genshin Impact layers looking to ascend electro party members can find out how to beat and where to find the Electro Hypostasis in this guide.

One of the first bosses that players are likely to face after starting their adventure in Genshin Impact is the Electro Hypostasis. As one of three Hypostasis bosses that players will encounter, taking on the Electro Hypostasis will increase Genshin Impact player's Adventure Rank, and net them some useful artifacts and character ascension materials that will come in handy as they progress through the game.

Players can find the Electro Hypostasis in the Southeast corner of the Green Hills region of Mondstadt. The fastest way to reach the boss is to teleport to the "Eagles Gate" domain - if unlocked - and the boss will be located directly Southeast from the entrance to the dungeon.

Like the other Hypostasis world bosses, there is no definitive party setup that is ideal for defeating the Electro Hypostasis. However, as the boss is an Electro elemental enemy, players shouldn't rely on electro party members such as Fischl, Razor, or Keqing as their main DPS for this fight.

Prior to starting the fight, players should note that they will only be able to damage the Electro Hypostasis when his core is exposed either during or after concluding an attack. There are a total of 6 attack patterns that the Electro Hypostasis will utilize over the course of the fight, with some offering better opportunities to deal damage to the enemy than others.

The most common attack pattern that players will see the Electro Hypostasis using is its "Rock, Scissors, Paper" ability. During the move, the cube will transform into a fist that will attempt to punch the player, followed by a pair of scissors that will attempt to cut the player, and ending by morphing back into a hand and slamming on the ground. While this move may appear threatening, players can easily avoid the combo by continuously dashing away from the enemy. As a result, players should keep a close eye on their stamina bar so that they have the ability to dash.

The second most common attack that the Electro Hypostasis will utilize - which is shared with the Anemo Hypostasis - is its "Drill" ability. When cast, the cube will morph into a giant spinning drill that will attempt to hit the player before shooting several electro missiles that target the player. This is arguably the easiest of the boss's attacks to avoid and can be dodged by simply maneuvering away from the enemy.

One of the best times for players to damage the Electro Hypostasis is during its "Spinning Laser" ability. During the ability, the Electro Hypostasis forms a circle on the ground that will begin to shoot laser beams rotating clockwise. As the lasers begin to rotate, players can enter the center of the circle and deal a significant amount of damage to the boss's exposed core. However, it is important for players to leave the circle before the "Spinning Laser" attack concludes, as the boss will deal a large amount of AOE damage as it puts itself back together.

At a certain point during the battle, the Electro Hypostasis will disappear and a group of pillars will fall from the sky that will form a circle around the player. When players see the pillars begin to land, they should immediately dash away from where the pillar circle is being formed. If the player is not quick enough, they will be trapped within the circle and have to dodge a series of lightning strikes before the attack is over.

One of the hardest abilities to dodge - that the Electro Hypostasis will cast - is its signature ability " Electro Waves."  During the ability, the Electro Hypostasis will teleport to the center of the arena and begin to generate hundreds of electrical wave charges that the player must dodge. It is important to note that the player cannot damage the boss's core during this ability, so it is important to prioritize avoiding as many of the electrical waves as possible.

When the boss's health is reduced to 5%, it will teleport to the center of the arena and generate three electric crystals around it.  Players will then have a short window of opportunity to destroy the electric crystals with burst elemental attacks. If the player fails to destroy any of the crystals, the Electro Hypostasis will generate 15% of its health for each crystal missed.

After destroying the final crystal, players need to only deal a small amount of damage before the boss is defeated. Players can then claim their rewards which include: vajrada gemstone fragments, lightning prisms, and random artifact set drops.

Genshin Impact is available for Mobile, PC, and PS4, with PS5 and Switch versions in development.
