Tartaglia is a five-star character in Genshin Impact that many players wish to have while not knowing all of the lore behind his story.

Genshin Impact is a free-to-play, open-world, action RPG, gacha game released in September 2020 on PC, PS4, Android, and iOS. The game takes place in the colorful world of Teyvat, home to seven different nations that are all tied to a specific element. And while the player controls and follows the story of the Traveler, the protagonist, they can play as many other interesting heroes.

One of these unique characters is Tartaglia, who also goes by his alias "Childe" and is actually named Ajax. He controls the element of Hydro and uses a Bow as his weapon of choice. Tartaglia, a five-star character, is one of the Eleven Harbringers of the Fatui and considered one of the more dangerous members. He is always up for a challenge and danger is his middle name (not actually).

10 Tartaglia According To The Official Website

"Meet Tartaglia — the cunning Snezhnayan whose unpredictable personality keeps people guessing his every move. Don't be under any illusion as to what he might be thinking or what his intentions are. Just remember this: Behind that innocent, childlike exterior lies a finely honed instrument of war."

This is how miHoYo, the developers of Genshin Impact, define Tartaglia on the game's official website. He literally tells others that he is "kind of a bad guy" and likes chaos as well as brawling. Tartaglia comes off as extremely confident, egotistical, and ostentatious. He is a warrior so he is always looking to grow stronger and constantly on the prowl for the next battle. Tartaglia is not even afraid of death (or so he says).

That being said, despite his reliability, his pride often gets him into trouble and makes him easily manipulated.

9 Tartaglia According To The Game

"No. 11 of The Harbingers, also known as "Childe". His name is highly feared on the battlefield."

This is what Tartaglia's in-game character attributes text reads in Genshin Impact. Compared to the rest of the Harbringers, he is a weirdo. Besides, they are patient and work in the shadows while Tartaglia cannot help but throw himself into the middle of the action.

Also, he is quite a socialite and a public figure too. In fact, when Tartaglia is not out adventuring, he is an actor for plays and theater productions. On top of everything, Tartaglia is considered to be loyal, caring, generous, and affectionate.

8 Tartaglia Looks Absolutely Dashing

If entered into a competition for best dressed, Tartaglia has a solid chance at winning.

He wears a gray jacket that is opened up, gray pants, black boots, and black gloves. Tartaglia also wears a belt with a crystal orb (his Vision) and a red banner around his body. He dons a single earring with a red jewel as well as a red Fatui mask pulled off to the side of his head.

Regarding appearance, he has short, messy-yet-manicured orange hair and deep blue eyes.

7 Tartaglia Has Cool (And Slightly Dramatic) Talents

Nobody loves combat more than Tartaglia. He charges in headfirst equipped with his trusty Bow and oversaturated with vicious Hydro energy.

Tartaglia's normal attack is called Cutting Torrent; his elemental skill is Foul Legacy: Raging Tide; Tartaglia's elemental burst is Havoc: Obliteration; his first Ascension passive talent is Never Ending; Tartaglia's fourth Ascension passive is Sword of Torrents; his utility passive talent is Master of Weaponry.

6 Tartaglia Is Into Collecting Seashells

To level up a character's talents, the player needs to acquire numerous materials. When it comes to Tartaglia, he likes Teachings of Freedom, Guide to Freedom, and Philosophies of Freedom; Tartaglia also prefers Recruit's Insignia, Sergeant's Insignia, and Lieutenant's Insignia; and he is a fan of the Shard of a Foul Legacy.

When it comes to Ascension, Tartaglia wants lots of Varunada Lazurite (Sliver, Fragment, Chunk, Gemstone), Cleansing Heart, Insignia (Recruit's, Sergeant's, Lieutenant's), and... Starconch, which are cute little empty seashells containing the longing calls of the sea.

5 Tartaglia Uses Monoceros Caeli

Monoceros Caeli is the name of Tartaglia's constellation, the character progression system. Each constellation is unlocked with a Stella Fortuna (which is only obtainable through pulling duplicates via Wishes).

If the player decides to invest in him, Tartaglia will be able to trigger Riptide over and over (and over) against enemies on the battlefield. From levels one to six, they are Foul Legacy: Tide Withholder, Foul Legacy: Understream, Abyssal Mayhem: Vortex of Turmoil, Abyssal Mayhem: Hydrosprout, Havoc: Formless Blade, and Havoc: Annihilation.

4 Tartaglia Is One Of The Bad Guys

"Sages think they know everything, Only with time did I understand the justice behind the actions of those fools."

The Eleven Harbringers, like the game says, are sages who make up the military detachment of the Fatui, which are a delegation of diplomats from the Zapolyarny Palace. They hail from Snezhnaya, one of the seven nations of Teyvat; those from here worship Tsaritsa, the Cryo Archon, as well as the Fatui (as a religion).

The Harbingers are the strongest, wealthiest, most powerful members of the Fatui (and Snezhnayan society). Tartaglia is the eleventh member of their ranks and the newest addition to boot (addressed as "The Young Lord" by subordinates).

In Genshin Impact, the Fatui is actually one of the two main antagonistic factions, right alongside the Abyss Order.

3 Tartaglia Likes To Eat It Raw

A Prize Catch is a special food item that the player has a chance to cook up by making Calla Lily Seafood Soup with Tartaglia. It is his favorite dish and specialty, made with crab, Calla Lily, and mint.

According to the game, "It looks like a trapped beast floundering in an ocean of blood, its death throes an inaudible scream... But Tartaglia smiles and explains that this is something he fished out of the sea, with some products from his homeland on the side."

2 Tartaglia Is Voiced By Griffin Burns

The voice actor for Tartaglia is Griffin Burns. He also voiced Colt Grice in Attack on Titan: The Final Season, Masamichi Isami in A Whisker Away, and Doppio in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind.

Beyond these parts, Burns lent his voice as Muichiro Tokitou in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, Ritsuka Fujimaru in Fate/Grand Order - Absolute Demonic Front: Babylonia, Hilbert in Pokemon Masters, Cyril in Fire Emblem: Three Houses, Dendritic Cell in Cells at Work, Tadano in Aggretsuko, and the male player in Code Vein.

1 Tartaglia Was Born On July 20

On July 20, Tartaglia was born, which would make him a Cancer. This zodiac sign in particular is a water element, which matches him nicely. Moreover, Cancers tend to be tenacious, imaginative, loyal, emotional, sympathetic, and persuasive. Yet, they are also moody, pessimistic, suspicious, manipulative, and insecure.

It is not hard to believe Tartaglia is a Cancer.

Also, he shares his birthday with Alexander the Great, which is fitting. Besides, Tartaglia shares a birthday with musician Chris Cornell, which is not necessarily fitting as well but just plain cool.
