Pokemon GO players can now start preparing for the upcoming Snivy April Community Day by studying the features and bonuses in this guide.

The Pokemon GO April 2021 calendar of events is pretty jam-packed and trainers aren't getting any breaks as the middle of the month approaches. As the other Season of Legends events continue to rage on, this weekend brings a handful of hours for trainers to focus on the Gen V starter - Snivy.

Snivy is the featured Pokemon for the April 2021 Community Day event, which means trainers will be spending a busy afternoon this weekend tracking down the Grass-type and trying to secure some new Pokemon GO shiny encounters to add to their collection. Although Snivy's evolutions aren't particular popular in the PvE meta game, the starter Pokemon still has a strong following and is sure to bring out a big crowd for its spotlight event.

The April Community Day event features some fantastic bonuses that are going to allow players to earn a ton of extra Stardust while they race around in Pokemon GO trying to find shiny Snivy and evolving Serperior that know the Grass-type move Frenzy Plant.

11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time

Starting in February 2019, Community Day events now always take place on local time, no matter where you are playing. That changes a bit over the winter months as the time is split between hemispheres rather than time zones. It looks like we're back to one time at this point though.

Evolve Servine (the Evolution of Snivy) during the event or up to two hours afterward to get a Serperior that knows the attack Frenzy Plant.

Make sure to evolve during the active time window (within an hour of the event ending) if you want to secure it.

Incense activated during the event will last for three hours

Snivy will be appearing more frequently in the wild. If you’re lucky, you may encounter a Shiny one!

Take a few snapshots during Community Day for a surprise!

There’ll be a special one-time-purchase Community Day Box available for 1,280 PokéCoins, featuring 50 Ultra Balls, four Star Pieces, four Mossy Lure Modules, and an Elite Charged TM.

For US$1 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency), you’ll be able to access the Snivy Community Day–exclusive Special Research story, Snivy in the Sunshine.

Recent updates to the game’s code suggest that this Community Day, like last month’s, will temporarily offer special Field Research tasks that put an emphasis on the featured Pokemon. Be sure to claim your rewards and clear out a space for these quests if you want to see them.

Niantic usually doesn’t confirm the shiny chance until after the event has started, but keep an eye out for shiny Snivy while hunting. They’ve been a part of every other Community Day event, so we fully expect to see them this month, as well.

That’s everything we know at this point. Be sure to check back in the near future for more Pokemon GO strategy guides, news, and updates. Until then, good luck out there, trainers!

Over the next week or so players should begin to learn a lot more about what other events are on the way throughout the rest of the the Season of Legends. Be sure to check back in the near future for more Pokemon GO strategy guides, news, and updates. Until then, good luck out there, trainers!
