Rockstar is bringing another update for fans of Red Dead Online. The multiplayer open-world offers various ways for players to live out their Old West dreams. With this update, cowpokes can take on Free Roam events in Red Dead Online to gain additional rewards throughout the week.
While many players will be leveling up the Outlaw Pass or Specialist Roles in Red Dead Online, Free Roam activities provide another way to explore the world. Those looking for some additional XP or rewards can pick these missions as a quick fix. For other players who have exhausted the available content in RDO, these activities can keep engagement up. With the special bonuses Rockstar is adding this week, fans will want to hop back in for some easy bounty.

After logging in, look for any of the activities marked by an orange icon on the world map. Head to these to start a Free Roam mission and complete it for double XP. Even the spur of the moment Free Roam events will award twice the XP too. These can be done by accepting the invite when it appears on the screen. These include activities like King of the Castle, Fool's Gold, or Cold Dead Hands. If possible, try to join up with a posse in Red Dead Online for even more benefits during the week. Players in a group earn 40% more RDO$ along with the 10% bonus already provided.
To make the weekly event even more alluring, Rockstar is giving out rewards for ranking up. By ranking up before April 19, players can earn extras like cash and treasure maps in Red Dead Online. One rank up gets a treasure map, three rank ups receive a treasure map and ability card, and 6 ranks receive a treasure map, two ability cards, and RDO$150. Plus, traveling around the world is even easier thanks to free fast travel for the week. If any fans are sick of their current look, head over to any barber for free cosmetic changes.
Fans of RDO should be happy to see that Rockstar is adding more benefits to the game. Free Roam events can be typically lower on the chain of activities, but with double XP these can be a bit more enticing. Since a large part of the end game involves completing the Red Dead Online Outlaw Pass or ranking up Roles, more XP is always welcome. Since cash can be hard to come by for newer players, free fast travel and cosmetics can be helpful for saving some extra dollars.
Those as is tradition, another update goes by for the game without any major content. Veterans will have likely moved on by now to other games that provide new activities consistently. It is unlikely long-term players will want to grind Free Roam missions for small bonuses. Nevertheless, those starting off should take advantage of the benefits currently running this week.
