A big part of the Rivals' Week event in Pokemon GO is the Global Challenge, and here's how to contribute to its completion and earn its rewards.

The current event running in Pokemon GO is the Rivals' Week 2021 event, an event focused on Fighting-type Pokemon, battling in raids, and winning in the GO Battle League. Players will also find many Pokemon that are considered to be rivals in the wild as they travel about.

Like many other Pokemon GO events, Rivals' Week 2021 has special challenges for players to complete. The special one for this event however is a Global Challenge that requires input from many different players all throughout the world.

The goal of the Global Challenge is to have 40 Million Raid battles happen in-game before the event's end on April 18th, 2021 at 8:00 PM in players' local times. This will be counting each person that has participated in a raid battle with players able to keep track of how they and their friends contributed to the total number. If this challenge is completed, all players will get double the amount of Stardust from catching Pokemon while the Rivals' Week event is active.

Even with how many players are active in Pokemon GO, this challenge may still take time to complete if players aren't actively pursuing raid battles. However, players don't need to focus on tough Pokemon requiring teams of other players to help. Even Tier One raid bosses help toward the total count. The current Tier One raid bosses are:

Mankey

Shinx

Croagunk

Timburr

Skrelp

Clauncher

If players are looking for more of a challenge while still by themselves they may want to try the Tier Three raid bosses. They however should be careful to not run out of time and lose the chance to go for the catch. The Tier Three raid bosses currently are:

Nidoqueen

Nidoking

Hitmonlee

Hitmonchan

Zangoose

Seviper

The last raid bosses are recommended only for players that have the help of other players for the fight. Both Mega raid bosses and Tier Five raid bosses are essentially impossible to solo, but players can invite the help of their friends remotely if they have a remote raid pass. They will deal less damage this way, but it's still more damage than them not being there. The Mega and Tier Five raid bosses are this time are:

Therian Landorus

Mega Gengar

Mega Manectric

Mega Lopunny

The most important thing to have for players going on raid marathons is a number of raid passes. Players can get a free raid pass every day by spinning a Pokestop or Gym, but they can only hold one free pass given this way at a time. Raid passes can also be purchased from the store, but a free Remote Raid Pass is currently being given away for free via the Event Box in the store. If players aren't full up on them, players can claim this free one.
