While not all Pokemon from previous games made a return in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet, players have the opportunity to obtain fan favorite Gengar in these games with little effort. Traditionally, obtaining Gengar involves trading with another player for a Haunter, which evolves into Gengar post-trade.
